colonel davis, what do you think? am i overstating that?t's your sense of how the media's covering this and the public reaction to snowden? >> at least from what i've seen, public reaction has shifted a bit similar to the vote in congress as people have learned more details it seems there have been more people that have been glad for the conversation, because these were issues that we didn't learn about from the government, we had to learn about from a leaker. it was interesting to me that yesterday, there was almost a 50-50 split of congress that would have never been possible, but for edward snowden. i think it seems from my perspective that attitudes ever swung a bit that he's not the total traitor that ought to be taken out and shot, that it was in the beginning. cenk: that's interesting. in some ways, people have turned a little against him, but they recognize the value of what he did, because in another poll, 74% said yes the n.s.a. has been doing some privacy violations. it's been in trucive right? 39% say the violation is justified,

let's bring in msnbc legal analyst lisa bloom and defense lawyer davis. lisa, from what you see this morning, what was important to the trial and the testimony of trayvon's mother, to the jury? >> first of all, she was a very poised, dignified witness. unshakable on cross-examination. really, a model witness. she testified that was trayvon martin screaming out for help. she maintained it from the beginning, was unshakable and that was strong testimony for the prosecution. >> so if you're the defense attorney here, how do you deal with that in the coming days? how do you deal with the emotional power punch, really, of the mother's testimony backed up by the brother to some extent? that that's the sound of her son's voice? >> well, the defense attorney did all he could do. be very gentle and just to plant the seed. the seed he tried to plant was that she would have to hope it was trayvon, because if it wasn't, then trayvon would have been the wrongdoer, and that that would create a very negative outcome for her family. of course, she denied that. she said i

criminal defense attorney joseph hains davis. lisa, let me ask you about what you've seen this morning. what was important to the trial and the testimony of trayvon's mother to the jury? >> well, first of all, she was a very poised, dignified witness, unshakeable on cross examination. really a model witness. just directly answered the questions with the kind of steely resolve. and she testified that that was trayvon martin screaming for help on the 911 call just before the bullet rings out. she has maintained that from the very beginning. she was unshakeable. think that was very strong testimony for the prosecution. >> so if you're the defense attorney here, how do you deal with that in the coming days? how do you deal with the emotional power punch really of the mother's testimony backed up by the brother to some extent that that's the sound of her son's voice? >> well, the defense attorney on cross examination did all that he could do, which was to be very gentle and just to plant a seed. the seed that he tried to plant was tha

i used to live in davis california so i see in many ways how bicycling can improve lives and we're trying to increase this is a the police department according to national studies undercuts the measures by many studies but like thefts have increased in our city at a similar rate and that's been a tremendous increase so bike thefts have gone up singularly as well. if we want to address the bike thefts we have to address that in a significant way. my third aid peter i think it was a couple of months ago had a direct experience and he's been the main person in my office trying to put this together but his bike was stolen about a week after i called for this report and he getting got a close up look how his bike was recovered but how the system has debated getting their bicycles back and his experience is similar to others we've heard from throughout the city that some police stations do a really excellent job of processing bike thefts and but many of the stations can learn from the best practices and could use support i think from within the department and the community. so a major goal from
