we had the very good fortune some years ago of hiring a graduate of the davis school to join our teamat merrill lynch. we were blown away, frankly, by the focus that first the financial media placed on the fact that there's a gerontologist working on wall street and then subsequently we were blown away by how our clients embraced this much broader perspective around later life. over the last year or so, we've decided to double down on our work with usc, and we've extended our work with the davis school to now offer gerontological training for all the advisers at merrill lynch. and we have over a thousand advisers who either complete or are working their way through a gerontological certification. and today and you the auspices of the white house conference, we're announcing what we think is an even more exciting step forward, which is to extend this work with usc so that we're going to be training 35,000 companies that have 5 million employees who are clients of ours at merrill lynch, we're going to trade their benefits and hr professionals around this usc gerontological program. and

davis. i have the next question. my question is we know and as president of the disability we appreciate the contributions that they had but i was wondering if you could please elaborate slightly and i'm sure it's in your book but i'd like a tease to incentivize me to buy it, about the role of ralph in the ada? >> why did you bring him up, i'm just curious question marks. >> i knew him. >> ralph, i have to say there are two or three people who are like super great sources for this book and ralph is one of them. he has, one of, one of the things you realize when you're writing a book like this is your talking to people about things that happen 25 years ago. can you remember what happened 25 years ago in detail? ralph can. other people talk in generality, i could say to ralph what happened on july 15, 1989 and he'll say oh that day i was, you know and i was wearing so for those of you who don't know him, he had limp bar a disease which really knocked him for a loop. he understands the disability experience. he was the

in the last election, greg abbott, candidate for governor got 44% running against wendy davis. the senator, john cornyn, got the majority of the hispanic vote. the trends are not as overwhelming as people project. the second thing is to look to the future, 10 to 15 years from now, and prognosticate on what is going to happen is very iffy and uncertain. i'll give you three reasons why i think trying to portray the state becoming democratic because of the increase in hispanics is wrong. first one is assimilation intermarriage, and suburbanization. all those three factors make it questionable about how hispanics are going to vote in the future. intermarriage is the first link. the two candidates -- her name was better pure. both of them are hispanics. what are their children and grandchildren going to identify as? are they going to marry anglos? are they going to mother other -- mary other hispanics? nobody knows. not only assimilation and intermarriage, but the third thing would be suburbanization. more and more hispanics moved to the suburbs, they're moving into areas where the
