mayor adrian fenty said today the city will eliminate 250 jobs coming just months after dc announced the elimination of 1600 jobs. but even that won't be enough to balance the budget. the city will also take $125 million from the rainy day fund. the mayor says three areas that won't see cuts are police, fire an education. still, because of the shortfall the city's charter schools are facing huge delays in funding and as peggy fox reports it will mean doing without when school starts. >> reporter: students from community public charter school in the north east are getting back from a field trap. inside a transformation is going on. >> this will be our media lab. >> reporter: when school starts august 31st the new media lab will be available for children's after school program and for families who don't have computers at home. executive director saying the city will only be spending a portion of its $400,000 payment. >> even though the funding is coming the fact that a poshes of it is being delayed means that there are certain expenses that you have to defer until that new funding comes
