and you did have the instance of debbie wasserman schultz going down to florida and sort of picketingside of some of these events where chris christie was. probably not the best idea there. i think there is that chance for them to sort of point to a sort of stunt like to and say this is just a political witch hunt. i talked to folks in new hampshire and south carolina, republicans who also are talking about overreach, talking about the media, why are they blowing this out of proportion. in that way, even among some of those conservativeconservatives like they want to give chris christie a look. because if the so-called mainstream media is beating up on him, that sort of makes them want to rally to his side. so we don't know yet. i think dana is exactly right. we're a ways off. i remember in 2008 working at news day in new york. we all thought it was going to be hillary clinton and rudy giuliani in the 2008 race. how wrong we were. >> yes. i worked on that race. we were so disappointed when it didn't happen. all right. nia malika henderson and dana millbank, thanks. coming up, erin bro

march for life was adoption, and i think it's sad when you have people like governor cuomo, debbie wasserman schultz and the democrats attacking republicans and all americans who want to stand up for human life and adoption. that's something that is kind of sad and it's also interesting, frankly, as someone who sits in the position that i do, that when they go and say things like that, there is much less of a focus on what they said, whereas we find it tend to happen a lot more on our side. so i would caution, frankly, all of the rhetoric is probably not helpful in general, but there is a bit of a one-sided battle when it comes to how republicans are viewed in the media. >> yeah, but you know what, sean, let's face it. you are communications director there for the rnc, so when you hear something like mike huckabee said, granted you're saying these are individuals saying these things, mike huckabee is high profile. do you wish you could sit down with him and say, do not go there like that? reince priebus even tweeted, i wouldn't have said it like this. >> look, the governor spoke for 15, 20 minutes,

in fact, that comment coming from debbie wasserman schultz, a woman, of course, and the chairwoman ofnational committee. listen, all this comes, of course, one year, or little over a year after the presidential election. take a look at the exit polls. this is 2012, the presidential election. you can see the democrats doing much better. 55% of the female vote going to barack obama, only 44% going to mitt romney. well, what have the republicans done to try to capture some of that female vote back? who's going to be giving the gop response next tuesday to the state of the union address? cathy mcmorris rodgers. she's a congresswoman from washington state. she's the highest ranking republican in the house of representatives and the first woman to give the response in almost 15 years. and one other thing, the only person ever to give birth to three children while serving in congress. >> that's impressive in and of itself. >> yes. >> on the uj of women in politics, there is a certain woman named hillary clinton. >> i haven't heard of her. >> who may or may not be running for president, paul.
