we're reuniting debra with that good samaritan. welcome, ladies, to you both. >> jerry, we haven't seen you yet. we had debra tell her story. what was going through your mind? you were inside your house. i believe your son walked outside and you heard gunfire. >> yes, i heard about six shots, and i really thought somebody was outside shooting my son, so i ran out onto the front porch, and saw what i now know as my neighbor. i thought it was an official looking guy in a swat uniform, and we made eye contact. he looked at me, and just about that time, debra and laura, i now know their names, cars pulled up at the corner, which is, you know, 45 feet maybe from -- from where i was standing and the gunman waved, told laura in the first car to pull over. he kind of waved her over and she did, and debra here -- >> did not. >> well, he used the assault rifle to motion her through, and i was just transfixed to the spot. it didn't dawn on me to leave. she hesitated. i saw her -- i saw you glance up at him and when she looked at him, he just

debra, i mean, what kind of gun was he using? >> he had an automatic rifle. and it was very obvious that it was. that's why at first i thought he might be with the s.w.a.t. team, because i couldn't understand how a civilian would have a rifle like that. and he had magazine after magazine after ammunition, so i thought he was official. >> we know now officially that he had a handgun, but he also had a pawn the 223 bushmaster ar 15 semiautomatic rifle, which is exactly the same type of weapon that was used by adam lanza at sandy hook and by james holmes, the shooter in aurora. when you come face to face with that, had you ever had much thought about guns before this? >> i know a bit about guns, and i have shotguns at a range, so i know what they look like, but i've never seen somebody out on the street with an automatic rifle the way it was -- it was aimed at first the girl that he hijacked and then myself. i have never seen that, of course. >> i think -- >> unless it was somebody on the s.w.a.t. team. >> i think to clarify, it was a semiautomatic, but i fired

. >>> from major in jo hhannesbur we go to debra. debra, what can you tell us?> it's become a sign of obsession, sifting through government statements for frank information, really, on nelson mandela's condition. he's been in the hospital just over three weeks, the now, that statement was made, as i said, in sawita. she was addressing the media there. the family has been visiting mandela for the past 22 days. nelson's former wife and also his current wife, she's been by his side for much of that time. the official word used to describe nelson mandela's condition remains critical but stable, and exactly what that means medically, however, is unclear. members of the family will take a brief break from visiting mandela today, some of them for that planned meeting with president barack obama, but that will take place away from his hospital. at the hospital outside, members of the public continue to gather with increasing vigor, and the walls outside the hospital pasted with tributes of what is extraordinary love between mandela and his people. >> what a scene there.

. >> reporter: debra fine was his third shooting victim, she was driving home from a singing lesson and took a different route to avoid traffic from the president's visit. >> it was like the perfect storm. i saw a man with a kevlar vest looking very much like a swat team member. >> reporter: and you thought it could be a police officer? >> i absolutely thought it had something to do with the fact that obama was in town. >> reporter: then she saw the gunman near the intersection of yorkshire and kansas pull over a woman in a car. >> when he absolutely aimed at her and the rifle came up, i knew that that wasn't anything, somebody from the police would do. >> reporter: fine was just 20 feet away from zawahri and saw cold determination in his eyes. >> he was absolutely on a mission. everything had been planned out. he was then just in execute mode. >> reporter: you could tell by looking at him? >> absolutely. it was execute mode. >> reporter: and then you realized he was turning his attention to you? >> yes, i did, very fast. then i saw his eyes, i saw him point and i-- then i knew, then i

debra fine still has shrapnel inside her body. now, remember on friday, president obama was actually in santa monica attending a political fund-raiser. laura sist, the woman debra tried to save from being car-jacked, initially thought the gunman was part of the president's security force. it soon was clear he was not. no one needs to tell laura she is lucky to be alive. i spoke to her earlier. here is the exclusive interview. laura, what exactly happened? when did you first see the shooter? where were you going? >> i was driving to my nephew's play at school at new roads school in los angeles. and due to the blockade and obama being in town, i was winding through city streets trying to make my way there, and he appeared just out of behind a car that was in front of me. he just appeared in the middle of the road pointing a machine gun at me. >> and what did he look like? >> he was dressed all in tactical gear from head to toe, sort of a medium-sized person, brown hair pointing a gun, saying "pull over, pull over." >> and so then wh

a very large firearm. >> thank you very much, debra.der will now make a startling revelation. they say he claims that he has killed dozens of people. police in marion county, florida, say that he might be responsible for 30 murders across the united states. alina is here with more. >> the case happened in marion county, florida, back in 2006, more than six years ago. earlier there year authorities in florida received the results of dna tests conducted on a cigarette butt that was found at the crime scene and through those results that they found out about jose martinez. they also discovered he was wanted in alabama for an unrelated homicide. martinez was arrested in arizona and extra indicted to alabama where florida detectives caught up with him and they say he confessed to the 2006 murders offering details they believe only the killer would have known. suzanne. >> police are saying now he says he is responsible for the murders of 30 people. how did that happen? >> the marion county sheriff's office says so far they have been able to c
