john deere is laying off hundreds of workers in moline, illinois. the layoffs at deere's seeding and cylinder factory affect about 220 employees. it goes into effect on february 15th. in past years, , hn deere has laid off workers seasonally, and those people would usually return in the fall. this time, the company says the layoffs will last indefinitely. the announcement came after john deere released d s fourth quarter earnings report last week. deere earned 351 million dollars in august that was significantly lower than the 649 million the company earned in the fourth quarter last year. deere is also expecting sales to drop about seven percent in the cuent fiscal yea the mayor of dubuque will attend an important event in paris this week. roy buol is co-leading a four member delegation of midwest mayors at the paris climate conference. th conference involves many world leadads, including presidede obama. the mayors will be there on thursday. the group will represent the mississippi river cities and towns initiative at the conference. last week, bu
