"action news" reporter, katherine scott is live in west deptford township gloucester county, new jersey, where a house was struck by lightning. >> reporter: good morning, tam we heard several reports of lightning causing fires across the area that's what officials believe happened in west deptford. they believe lightening struck the chimney here at this home on will i understand drive and sparked a fire in the attic. firefighters were called in around 3:00 a.m. and the fire was under control within a half-hour. the storms were powerful they tore through quickly this morning. in wilmington you can see the downpours on french street and mlk boulevard near the amtrak station, it was just pouring. lightning streaked across the sky. in prospect park delaware county police were on the scene after a taxi was stuck in the high water. the vehicle was stalled in the middle of the road. you can see the police on the scene. we did see road flooding elsewhere, as well. but at this point we can see the storm moved out of this area, we can hear the birds chirping here. there were quite a bit of storms
