our hope is we would finish that dgo. other priorities would be after the december 7 commission hearing that you held on language? as we made recommendations to address the concerns that were brought forward during that hearing. my hope is we would be able to tailor some training and department bulletins to address the issues from that hearing. the third priority is the juvenile protocol we have been working with. we have done a lot of great things but there is to make -- remaining aspects. two balls are being brought to the district stations and we need to resolve that issue. we have been talking with the department and other experts about how to do training that addresses and is tailored to juvenile and we hope we can come to resolution and be able to provide that training to patrol officers. we made a recommendation to amend 5.01. the use of protocol that addresses situations when there is complaints of pain and other law-enforcement agencies, use of forced protocol. a simple fix to change that. >> thank you. i wondere

there are training requirements under dgo. there was documentation that the unit had to suspected in the required training. -- had participated in the required training. seven new officers obtained the training. there were no areas of concern. neither the chief attorney no. the investigator discovered them. there is a log that indicated from january through november police commissionermarshall -- commissioner marshall signed the log, required by 8.10. as of the time of the audit, and dr. marshall had not yet reviewed and signed the log for december. the police commission what indicates that an investigation was conducted during november and december of 2011. we do have a recommendation based on what we learned from the lieutenant. currently, the department manually return -- manually records each request in a log book. the lieutenant would like to electrically document. we concur with this recommendation. i would like to thank the chief investigator and attorney for conducting the audit. that concludes my report. president maz

we're the only body that sets policy for the department in our dgo and handles matters beyond 10 days suspension. we have to deal with issues like occupy and other emergency issues. we can barely read our minds around everything the department has to grapple with. we can provide a lot more support and oversight to the department and the occ and provide access to the public. in terms of attendance, it has dwindled. you have a few of the usual suspects but besides that you do not have a ton of community members coming at a variety. there's a lot more work for us to do on the policy end. we have great work with disciplinary but there is much more we can do in terms of being a strong body that is accessible and represents the interest of the community. i do nothing changing our rules to cut the number of meetings is the right thing to do. i would support the suggestion of cutting the fifth wednesday. because we have not been great about doing them every fourth wednesday, i would not mind us making that stronger and holding ourselves more accountable to that. i think we need to take that s
