how do you feel the dnc is addressing this issue going forward?i just want folks to understand that the first thing this new administration did when they came in was not try to lower the cost of eggs, wasn't to try to make it easier for people who are sick to have security, that they can go and get the medical care that they need. wasn't trying to stand up for our veterans, or ensure that seniors could stay in their house. one of the first thing they did was pardon violent january 6th insurrectionists folks, many of whom have gone on already to commit new crimes or to be rearrested for crimes that they had not yet been prosecuted for. if you look at what happened on what i've called doctor king's worst birthday ever. look at who was standing behind the guy who's in the white house right now, a cadre of billionaires who were sitting in front of the cabinet to make it crystal clear who this administration is centering. ken martin is in this. the other vice chairs who were elected, our leadership team is in this because many of them have stories just

now they have a dnc leader. but does it really matter? i mean, jeff and jasmine are both touching on this. what they need and where they're going to find that rudder is once the presidential election and the primary starts heating up. and that doesn't happen for two years. so in the meantime, the messaging that he talked about has been so damaging to the democrats that it's having this kind of an impact on polls and it's allowing president trump to just kind of own the own the political airwaves, which he's done very successfully. >> and sometimes democrats may want him to overreach. before you jump in, olivia, this is all going to be about the midterms. of course, that's the next big prize here. next year. the house seats that are up in 2026. there are a number of swing districts. and actually, i should say there are a small number of swing districts, 13 democratic seats in trump won districts, three in republican in seats in kamala harris one districts. there are some others that are closer more swing districts that don't quite fit into

and that is what the dnc chair will have to really chart out in the coming years.are trying to rebound from those devastating losses to republicans, which led to the return of donald trump to the white house in november. and then they are still grappling with how exactly to respond to trump in this new era. in his return to the white house, you saw democrats really this week starting to gain their footing a bit in pushing back against some of trump's policies when it related to the freeze on federal funding for grants and other initiatives. but these are all major questions that the dnc chair will face, as they are expected to come into office. they will have to focus on fundraising, trying to build organizing across the states and trying to take that democratic message to voters that in the last election did not exactly help. and where the party had some major losses, especially in that presidential race. so we'll see maybe in a few minutes if we have an answer on who that dnc chair will be. >> all right. let us know. arlette saenz. thank you so much. all right. a
