. >> we are on item #8, the lawrence park -- dolores park. >> hello. i am from the capital improvements division. the item before you now is de extension of contract for the helen diller playground at dolores park. this will include the bass bid as well as seek -- base bid as well as the first six alternates. just to give you background, the playground is a cooperative project by the recreation and park department with the neighborhood parks council and the delores park playground. the project was first bid in -- i believe it was september 2010. we received three bids, all that were beyond the available funds for the project. since then, we have been reviewing and by a-engineering project. we received five bids in 2011, many of which were within the available funds for the project. after the bid open, we received a protest from one of the bidders that indicated to us that the low bid, they did not mean the -- meet the 17% required by the project. we were waiting for the final determination from hrc. since that time, hrc has deemed that the bid was resp

this week, the group began work at dolores park, working on the western slope to improve visibility at locations that have historically attractive nuisance behavior. they removed 12 truckloads of debris. they repaired and replaced irrigation devices and couplers. also, we've been undergoing a renaissance in anticipation of the spring and summer season. 6 porta-potty 7 installed -- have been installed. our manager has been logging regularly above all the -- blogging directly about all the activists at delors park. every year, the commission as i asked to grant a permit for the north beach festival, and it has often been a contentious issue. but i am pleased to announce that because of the great work by dana ketchum and the leadership of michael sullivan, we have forthwith festival producers and the neighborhood, and there'll be no controversy this year. i would like dana to give you an update. >> good morning, commissioners. i am going to put up a map so you can see what is changing. hang on. so, you will see on this map -- and i am going to pull it up for years -- a revised north beach

enhance what i think is a great sculpt chur art piece there on dough lower es -- on dolores in the corner. as far as parking looking at the mix of units, i am supportive of the one to one and think it's a higher end, higher quality project, and it's going to call for that in this particular case. a lot of discussion has been around kids and youth and baby strollers and all that, but i think i can foresee this particular building project, having more mature people who may need cars as well and may not be able to hop on a bike to and from work or wherever they go. again, i'm not sure where we're all at but i'm in support of one to one ratio. president olague: commissioner borden? commissioner borden: yeah. i think i made my point. the f line actually goes on market street so it's not even a block and you have a block away an underground station that takes you downtown, plus you can go out to noye valley and anywhere in the city is transit rich and there's few places that parallel this. i think the market octavia plan was a social experiment to a certain extent. the neighbor neighborhoods said they were willin

parking. i would like to run through the project. the project is located on the first block of dolores street. this covers two of the warehouse buildings that have been mentioned. these are the pictures of the warehouse building. as you know, you are familiar with the site across the street where you have approved the whole foods project. one of the things we have done is work with our neighbors and understand where they're coming from. you can see the outline of the two warehouse buildings and a lot of our neighbors have many ins and outs. except for the building north of us, here, we would be considered a key lot because these buildings actually abut our buildings. the buildings to the south where one of the previous protesters were, this is a modern building and has a deep recess here and has another like well. there is a very nice rear yard that is shared by the residents on rosalind place. these are pictures from the roof of our project. these are the residents on clinton park. not only do they cover 80% of the lot, these take out the rest. this is a light well in the court. in working ou
