thank you very much, dominick, for making sense of this scenario. of course it is something we will keeps all from world business report for now. thanks for watching. we'll be back in a moment reviewing all the stories in the news. see you then. half of hospitals aren't yet meeting new government standards for patients' food, according to a new report. national standards were introduced two years ago with ten key areas for improvement. the department of health says 90% of hospitals are working towards compliance but the campaign for better hospital food describes the current situation as diabolical. in 2014, food standards became mandatory in english hospitals. this official report is an attempt to find out what progress has been made since then. it says there is more to do but claims there has been a measurable improvement in food quality. for example, in 89% of hospitals patients said their food was good or very good. that's up 5% from 2013. 55% of hospitals are fully compliant with standards recommended by dieticians. that's up 1496 recommended by dieticians. that's up 14% from 2015.

dominick has been tracking the action from the floor. he joins us now. what got to us this historic high? >> it has been a long time coming. we've been sitting this talking about it for such a long time. today it was about one stock in particular that propelled us that got to us open right at that 20,000 mark and that was boeing on the heel of strong earnings. boeing alone accounted for nearly 50 points. a huge chunk of what happened today. you have united technologies, on the heel of its earnings report. it only took with four or five points off the overall picture. if you look at caterpillar and boeing, they added the most. >> so if an investor happen to put $10,000 at or near the market lows, what would have happened? >> you know, timing the market is always a tough thing. if do you look at the way you systematically invest, if you managed to buy at the lows, you got a good return on your investment and here's what we're talking about. if you invested $10,000 during its lowest point in 2009, two years later your money almost doubled on over $19,000. d

first, dominick, what do we expect from the president and automakers today?ave mary barra, ford ceo mark fields, fiat chrysler sergio marchioni going in for a breakfast. front and center on this agenda will be american jobs. what can the u.s. auto industry do to ramp up employment domestically instead of moving manufacturing jobs to places like mexico. car makers have been pretty early and consistent in terms of being a target for the president and this will be the first time the big three auto ceos will meet jointly with the president since july of 2011 when barack obama met with them to go over fuel efficiency standards. you mentioned the comment he is made yesterday, a lot of talk will not just be about the jobs picture but tax policy, what will happen with the overall fuel efficiency standards picture, regulation overall and when you have guys like lockheed, tesla, ford, johnson & johnson weighing in the discussion, it will be a big deal. we hear, though, of course, and this is a big deal the fact that they'll come back in 30 days with some kind of action
