thank you, don. been taking advice from public health officials that were telling us that it was safe for both voters and for poll workers to come to the polls on tuesday. we were prepared to run elections. that advice changed raddicicall this morning. i received a call from the governor and lieutenant governor and the health director. and they made it clear that with the new cdc guidance limiting mass gatherings to no more than 50 persons and with the guidance that ohioans over 65 should not venture out unless they had an absolute necessity to do so, it was simply not going to be able to conduct an election in a way that was going to be safe for ohioans. as you saw tonight, the health director made an order. i sent out a directive which effectively tells the boards of elections that we are going to comply with the health director's orders. that was a difficult decision. ultimately, i think the right decision because, again, the only thing that takes precedent over a free and fair election, the only

both of these, designed to go to hotspots, don, where they need the testing. but, also, both of these are dependent on these components, which are still in short supply. namely, these nose swabs that you see. there is a shortage of them all across the country. still. >> well, you mention hotspots. the president has talked about opening up pafrrts of the count that aren't heavily affected by the virus. but with -- with what we know about the state and local testing right now, do you think that's realistic? is that realistic, drew? >> i mean, i guess the president can say or do what he wants. the question is, is he going to open up parts of the country that don't have hotspots just because they haven't been tested? that, i think, is the key question for a lot of the -- the health practitioners and the public health officials. a lot of these areas where there's not wide spread, you will also find a lot of not widespread testing. and the lack of testing, early on, in this epidemic, really hampered the u.s. response, as you can recall. we didn't know where it was.
