and donna edwards it's still with us. >> joe, we'll start with you. what do you make of the news that's coming out of a.g. bragg's office right now and how would this, new evidence of this trump audio affect the hush money case against the president? >> it's impossible to know what that is. it's a witness and trump. it could be michael cohen. it could be the tape that we already know about. but, it could be a different witness and a different type. either way, tape recordings are extremely powerful evidence. they frequently are determinative of a conviction. obviously, in watergate, we used a lot of tapes. they really made the case. it's very important, because it could lead to a conviction just on one tape recording. but it depends on what it is. and we will have to wait and see. >> so congresswoman, you have a situation where trump has this long history of denigrating judges, lawyers, jurors, robert mueller, all of the above, right? do you see him actually being able to contain himself from continuing to defame miss carroll? >> i think unless we are

. >> donna, edwards talk about the pressure that the democrats are under right now?they're not able to get this done, get the bills paid, have a negotiation on this, this could reverberate into the 2024 election. some folks are predicting a major fallout in our economy. >> yeah, i think yes and no. i mean, when i look at where democrats are positioned, democrats are saying across the, board we want to pay our. bills and really just that if it doesn't come through, who is it gonna blow back on? if history is any indication, i think the blowback is gonna be on republicans. like, separating paying our bills and the full faith and credit of the united states from what they already are engaged, in which is negotiations around spending appropriations and budget that will continue through the summer. there is an easy out for mccarthy on this. the easy out is to do what john boehner did before him which is negotiated deal with democrats where you might lose some democrats, you might lose some republicans, but you get the broad swath and passed the bill and pay our bills. >>

carroll's testimony and katie fang and donna edwards is back.t today. >>> sure. so, as you mentioned, it was the third day of carroll's testimony, the second day of her cross-examination, which is now over. and for a large part of the day, trump's lawyer sought to draw distinctions between carroll's testimony so far and some of her prior statements including her interviews on podcasts and on tv shows and statements she made in her book and statements she made in her depositions for this case. he tried to ask her questions regarding her emotions surrounding the events, her emotions immediately after the alleged attack and over the years and he also, as you pointed out, questioned why -- again, why she did not contact the police and why she stayed quiet about the alleged rape all these years. and in addition to that, he brought up a number of social media posts that she had made, including a post professing her massive, in her words, admiration for trump's show "the apprentice" and a facebook post in which she joked about -- or posted a joke about
