some pretty heavy, wet snow up here on donner summit. getting occasional gusts, really pushing the snow around up here this morning. chain controls right now at cisco grove over donner summit. it's not until you get to the highest elevations were we run into chain controls. it was a warm storm, which is again why this snow is pretty heavy. i can pick it up like pie or cake. that is classic sierra cement. that's indicative of a warm storm, but what did fall fell copiously. nearly 2 feet of snow in the past 24 hours here. you can see along donner pass road, we are getting big embankments like we would expect for the sierra. things we haven't seen too routinely over the last five, six years. good to see it back here. if you are heading into the sierra, make sure you are ready for winter travel conditions. if you are doing skiing or snowboarding, you definitely want to be with a buddy today. the snow is deep, especially the snowboarders. you don't want to get stuck up done upside down. some good powder. a little heavy, but the snow level wil
