right now dover and east of oxford. so when we picked up nearly a quarter of an inch of rain here, just over that in quantico a half an inch of rain you folks in frederick, maryland, and culpepper as well. light rain today. scattered showers. nothing too heavy. things will change by the beginning of the weekend. the skies are clearing. even though we'll start the day with fog, i think we'll clear out quickly as the wind starts to pick you. meanwhile, there's a big storm moving through the west. that storm will be leaded this way. a severe weather outbreak is likely on friday as the storm system moves to the east. it starts feeding on moisture coming out of the gulf of mexico. right now, severe weather looks as though it will be from texas up toward nebraska over to southern illinois and down to mississippi. then we could see some thunderstorms here on friday. i don't think we'll have any severe weather. but thunderstorms are something we haven't seen much of. the reason is because there hasn't been a lot of moisture com

couple degrees above average. 68 in dover, cooler from patuxent river back through atlantic city, those spots in the low 60s right now. scattered showers across primarily pennsylvania. this cool front, the boundary where the cool air is lined up kind of edging its way about halfway into pennsylvania, it's much cooler back up into northern ohio. the boundary staying north of maryland, so we are still in the warm air but we are getting those peppering of showers and even a brief thundershower at times because it's unsettled. when that boundary is so close by, it can create some unsettled weather out ahead of that cool front and that's what we are seeing but we don't expect the cool front to make it through. if anything, i think it's going to back up and retrograde a little bit into the great lakes. warm air will hold on the next couple of days. as we work into the afternoon, we will get the instability going and the chance for a few showers. the better chance for rain coming in not tomorrow which looks mainly dry but on saturday, scattered showers and storms possible in the afternoon and

we actually had a few heavier thunderstorms in dover, and over portion of new jersey, atlantic city. that is pushing east. and breaks in the clouds west. and high pressure over the atlantic heads to nova scotia but for us, weak front pushes east. and kind of falling apart. and the next system is held at bay, back off to the west. high pressure keeps moisture to the southwest. for friday, so friday is decent. saturday afternoon, the chances for showers will increase as we go into the afternoon. the chances after about 2 or 3 color, to get rain. but the real area of low pressure that will give us chances for heavier rain will arrive late saturday night and sunday is the better day to get thunderstorm activity cross the area. 53, showers breaking with clouds breaking overnight tonight. making way for sunshine tomorrow. and looking at 69 degrees. almost brushing 70 and northwest wind at five to 10. and 64 saturday. afternoon and evening showers moving in. thunderstorms leading us into sunday. 67. and then we hold onto rain into monday. and then start to clear up tuesday to wednesday. bac
