this is in downtown manhattan in new york city. take a look at your screen there.wo window washers right now trapped on that scaffold that you can see on your television screen there. dangling on the side of the steep angle after some sort of a cable snapped. now, this is all unfolding on the 69th floor. apparently on the south side of one world trade center. trained members of the new york city fire department are on the scene at this time. some 60 firefighters to try and figure out how to rescue the people that are currently trapped on that piece of scaffolding. the workers are recordly strapped in safely. at least for now. luckily, the fog indicates there's not much of a breeze. as can you see, there's not much of a breeze going on. that's the good news here. rescuers reportedly plan to cut out some sort of a pane of glass to try to reach these workers. where? because as can you see from the sleek outside of this building, there are no ledges.
