also there are several regional rail stops including lansdale, doylestown, warminster, west trenton and so if you realize you're going to miss your train, you can then maybe jump onto a bus or onto the broad street line. now, like we've heard the entire 120 car fleet could take weeks to fix. stress cracks developed in a critical portion in the wheel suspension is what caused that. we caught up with a number of early riders today who are kind of testing outer today and they might use the plan that they have today for those several weeks it could take to fix those carls. take cars. take a listen. >> i changed my route to fern rock so i could walk so i could have an alternative to getting a subway get in town if i needed to. >> reporter: now, deborah who we just spoke to she was waiting for her normal 6:02 train, the 6:02 train is what was on the saturday schedule here at fern rock. but that train was late so instead she just walked over went on the broad street line so she could get to university city. now, again, the contingency plan that is posted on septa.org is the best thing to look

we are along the doylestown line. extra service starting this morning. the first train did just stop at the station. i can happily report, no details of any sort. we are dealing with a very early hour. things could change as we get into the early morning rush. as you remember, over the weekend, septa worked out a deal with amtrak and the transit agencies in new jersey and maryland adding some 1700 seats for septa riders. the commuting problems began last week when septa had to abruptly remove a third of its fleet from service because of a structural defect on those new silver liner 5 train cars. that meant that p loss meant that trains and platforms were completely overrun with frustrated riders and many people had to resort to driving to getting to work. that's expected to change today. if you were driving or fining some kind of other alternate transportation, this may be the time to come back to the train. >> also new today, septa is extending platforms at three of their regional rail stations where ridership is specially high. those extended platforms
