dr. badenme start with you have the on set advantage. what do you make of the autopsy report? what did you green from it? >> i gleaned from it the comments about the knuckle injuries are invalid. megyn: trayvon martin had one. george zimmerman had reportedly no knuckle injuries. >> that's right. the muzzle weapon was up against the body of trayvon at the time of discharge. that it was within an inch when it was discharged. that would have been on the ground or standing up. can't tell from the autopsy. megyn: definitely fired close range? >> close range. the muzzle being next to the skin. then it went straight in. straight in through the heart. megyn: looking at the way he was killed, the injury to the heart, is there any chance fighting could have continued after the bullet entered trayvon martin? >> good question. conceivably for a few seconds, 10 seconds or something like that until collapsed. megyn: okay. there was no chance of reviving him with that injury? >> even if people got their faste

dr. michael baden and mark fuhrman join us again.other, caring mother close to her are own mother and family who goes to her boyfriend's house. her sister is supposed to pick her up that night. we know that the boyfriend says that she is sleeping when the sister comes to get h her and now she is missing and disappeared. so, i guess the question is he is the last to see her. he can't explain her disappearance. why are the police saying "we do not have a crime"? >> well, i can't see why they are saying that but it is pretty obvious that when the sister calls and he says she is asleep that was probably at a time there had already been a crime occurred so start the timeline just before that or significantly before that since the last time she was seen. but you don't have to have a crime. the job is of police work to find out if there is a crime sometimes, not just allow the suspect to conceal a body and say there is no crime. he goes out to get an ice cream cone and is gone ten minutes and she miraculously disappears and leaves everythin

dr. badent that there was a 23-minute 911 call where shannon was literally and figuratively running for her live from the individual who we have to put at the top of the pile was the pump who brought her to that john's house that morning. in route to running for her life through this very, very dense, very difficult to navigate marshland, i've been out there with your colleague, she slammed on the door of a neighbor, gus coletti, begging for help. so again, it is consistent with the fact as we knew at the time from two years to the day that she was running for her life. somehow she expired in that, you know, in that series of facts but as far as it being part of one serial killer i have never bought into that theory. i still don't. there were 65 bodies found up in pelham bay park in the bronx over a seven-year period. all the bad guys, know, harris, when you want to dump a body, bring it to the booneys. that is where you go. harris: video you see with jenna lee. i'm filling in for her today. yo

jenna: we know it's 33 years ago, dr. badenbut have you heard of this man at any time, at any point over the last three decades? have you heard this name before? >> no. although allegedly he was on the police radar, but i've never heard of this particular person. one of the things, jenna, that shows up is that in 1979 there was not tracking of pedophiles. now there is, and it's amazing how many pedophilic people are in the area where etan went missing that nobody knew about. now the police know all the different pedophiles in that area. jenna: that's interesting. we forget how times have changed -- >> yes. jenna: we mentioned that this case, obviously, was a big watershed moment for missing children as far as national pub publicity. >> oh -- jenna: but you really point out, dr. baden, and we were talking about this, anyone could come forward and claim they know something at this point, and it would be very hard to double check or double source their story. so if you could just bring us behind the scenes here. what do you think

if dr. baden was doing his analysis that's what he would say.he coin trayvon martin has a cut on his knuckles. that would say there was indicating some sort of aggressive injury. >> how do you determine how tho when those injuries happened. >> we try to do a little analysis. we are not in the courtroom looking the way the jurors look. they look at witnesses and evidence. zimmerman already testified at a bail hearing. that is rare the defense attorney gets an opportunity to see how his client will hold up in court and others. i wouldn't be surprised if you see mr. zimmerman. >> second degree murder does it raise enough reasonable doubt to diminish that? >> this is a very stacked specific incident. the bottom line is the jurors are going to say you have a kid with iced tea and skittles. you have a guy with a gun. if a kid with iced tea punches someone in the nose is that enough to blow him away in the chest. that's for the jury to decide. >> appreciate it. thank you for coordinating. >>> it is 47 after the top of the hour. ladies want to get ahead

dr. baden, you responded to many homicide scenes. what is the first thing you look for in a case leak this? >> the first thing you have to look for' part from the scene is to determine the cause of death and that hasn't been released yet. and as much as people say. >> judge jeanine: why do you think it hasn't been released yet? >> because police are doing an investigation. and some agencies release the information right away, sometimes they don't. the issue here is what they say is a homicide. due to a shooting, stabbingion strangulation or blunt force. if it is blunt force it may not be a homicide. it could be -- i have seen three cases now in the past many decades where horses have struck people in barns and initially thought to be a homicide. >> judge jeanine: that is interesting, someone being injured by a horse kicking them. they say this is murder it is clear the wounds on the body and location of the corpse indicate that it was clearly murder. stall or near aal or near a horse. >> it seems it like is occurred on the backside w

jenna: you know, joe, we got an opinion as well from dr. baden known forensic pathologist, and we were asking him because it was interesting that it stood out to us that the medical examiner mentioned marijuana in trayvon martin's system. and dr. baden told us he doesn't think this is a factor at all. it's a small amount, it could have been days ago, he doesn't feel in his professional opinion it's even relevant to this case. but it shows just how there's different pieces being pulled together about who these two people are. again, as the defense, where do you go when you look to defend your client, which would be george zimmerman, and you have this dead child that you have to present to a judge and jury? how do can you tread lightly there to get your client off but also not seem inappropriate, quite frankly? >> well, jenna, you raise a good point. as a criminal defense attorney, what i would be looking to show here is there was a struggle, okay? and we see photos of trayvon martin wearing a hood, and he has that baby face. but there are facts th

faith, you're listening to that as a prosecutor, dr. badens pathologists out there, what does ha mean for the prosecution's case? >> the prosecutors know it's not about what they believed happened, it's about what they can prove. and anytime -- they have the burden of proof. the defense, they don't have to put on any evidence, but in this case they have. they've decided to ri butt the prosecutor's -- rebut the prosecutor's theory and bring forth this expert who's offering significant testimony about the way they believe the victim in this case died and if jury is any kind of credibility to that, that's a big problem. jenna: john, big win here? >> yeah, i think they're showing there's another theory to it that the prosecution's not showing, and as long as the jury could harness that and digest that, i think that might be enough for an acquittal. jenna: i'm just curious with your opinion as a defense attorney because the defense made that argument in public before this case went to trial. the jury probably -- they weren't there, present for tha
