matt: jonathan, you have devoted your life to drones. there any standards among producers or any effort to reach standards? >> absolutely. right now, it is among hobbyists. it is an honor code. there are some standards that we adhere to. next week is the beginning of a process, it is not an event, by which a gun goes off and it is the wild west. we can now be in business -- no, it is the start of a dialogue that could take years. matt: when will we have an air traffic control system that will allow a company to fly a drone across state lines and do business, unmanned? >> it will come in phases. we are already having people fly in limited use cases, under exemptions from the faa. if you are talking about multiple drones in the air, they need to detect and avoid one another, be able to go into safe mode is something happens, there are rules associated with that. it will be a walk before you run process. it will be step-by-step. we can go with that. matt: what kind of companies jonathan, who will take the lead here? >> i it is like the evol

back in 2014, he was actually flying a drone over a beach in connecticut, and on to that drone he had- on top of that drone he had a camera strapped to it, he says, a woman assaulted him. it's all caught on camera, because he flew that drone over her. police responded to the scene, after reviewing the video, the woman was charged for assault. this individual was 18 years old, he was not arrested or charged in that incident. but again, by just looking at his online postings he is a drone enthusiast the video that's catching everyone's attention is that one right there. >> the bottom line there is a lot of gray area especially when it comes to these personal drones? >> there absolutely is and so that's the struggle really when it comes to regulating this technology that frankly is moving so quickly and so many people have access to it and are attracted to it but the laws simply aren't there on the books. i've spoken to several lawmakers and several law enforcement officials who say often times we don't know what we can do, our hands are kind of tied when they retreat to look at the law.
