before i wrote this book, i did research on the dsm in the backyard idea. whether there is anyone thinking of ways getting around that. i ran into some interesting research. in europe they had a lot of solar and wind development and ways to get around this problem. a lot of events that coming down to having community participated in these objects rather than having problems. if you build a wind farm you have to offer the community of the persons whose property built on a 20% stake in the wind farm. suddenly nimby is then disappears. and i think that is a really great idea. i have no idea what it take to get something like that implemented in the u.s. because it's really different from how we traditionally thought about infrastructure development. the idea of this interact a participatory infrastructure development is really, really different and you end up running into institutional inertia like we've never done that way, if we don't want to because change is scary. it's almost nimby is some as opposed to on the part of individuals. i think there's a lot of

the wind dsm doesn't help. the -- definitely doesn't help. the trees are expected to go up later this week as we get some warmer temperatures. there's our system. well, it's gone now. it cool us down over the weekend. brought snow up in the sierras and thunderstorms. cool numbers all the way down to southern california. by the way on the flip side of that, chicago yesterday was 97 degrees. the warmest temperature ever so early in the season. rockford, illinois was 99. i mean wow. but for us it's a cool pattern. you expect that with a system hanging out here but as it leaves, high pressure is trying to nose in but there's one more wrinkle here that has to keep us on the cool side for another day. then warmer weather tuesday, wednesday and thursday. 40s, upper 40s, low to mid-50s for many under mostly cloudy skies. there are a few breaks in there. but high pressure is there after just that little guy goes through. i know it's not much but it keeps the westerly breeze going. 50s, 60s and 70s. no 80s. 80s would be in the orange. don't see any. i
