dublin had sweltering heat over the weekend. it is still hazy right now. we're at 81 degrees, so that's cooler than it has been but definitely a range in temperatures that varies across the bay area from the inland valleys to the coastal areas. we're headed for upper 80s for this afternoon, so still cool weather, still warm, and then we see things cooling off as you head into the afternoon. and also the marin county fair is going on. here, much more comfortable temperatures reaching into the upper 70s. we'll reach that high temperature at about 4:00 this afternoon. cooling off quickly. the wind is going to pick up but also a gradient to enjoy the cooler temperatures. tomorrow we've got the rose, white, and blue parade starting out in the morning at 10:00. we'll see temperatures in the low to mid-70s, upper 70s around noon as it wraps up. and then later tomorrow evening, we've got the 4th of july fireworks in san francisco and it looks like right at 9:30 we are going to see the low clouds coming in. it's going to be chilly, only 57 degrees with those gusts

elissa harrington is live at chp headquarters in dublin where investigators have a description of someone they want to speak with about the fires. alyssa that's right. you know, they're looking into whether a man who was seen near one of these fires is connected . again, these were a string of fires that broke out on interstate 580 near the 205 split. video posted by the alameda county fire department shows flames on the hillside along interstate 580 at grant line road near the altamont pass, just one of several fires that broke out along an eight mile stretch of the freeway around 615 saturday morning. the california highway patrol is investigating these as possible arson incidents. in a press release, the chp wrote it is seeking help from the public to identify a suspect involved in multiple counts of arson. the chp said witnesses spotted a man near one of the fires on the portola avenue under crossing that person was standing next to a white truck wearing a blue shirt and black pants. cal fire confirmed it sent an investigator to the altamont area to determine the cause. but division c

it's in the low 70s right now in dublin, 65 in san jose. we don't need a jacket for much of the bay area as you get ready to head out the door, with temperatures in the upper 50s in san francisco. that's where we did have the cooler temperatures over the weekend and that continues today. our valleys are still going to have some warm weather, with some upper 80s and low 90s, reaching 95 in livermore today, 94 in concord and 94 in santa rosa. looking at tomorrow, those temperatures continue to come down. we're back to some more seasonable weather with some mid-80s. we've also been tracking quite a bit of some unusual activity with showers and even some thunderstorms and lightning farther to the north. that was yesterday evening. now the activity has quieted down, but it did get quite busy for a while in parts of northern sonoma, lake and mendocino counties with lightning strikes that came through. we're still monitoring for the potential of any fires that could be smoldering there in the brush. so we'll continue to monitor that as we go throu

dublin and look at the immediate coastline.e're staying a little bit warm today but not as bad and if you have any plans to head down along the coastline, we should see 75 in san francisco. but like i mentioned the winds will start to pick upcoming out of the west/southwest gusting anywhere from about 20 to 30 miles an hour at times through the afternoon and into tomorrow morning. so where's the concern with all this? where am i going with? it could lead to the chance of thunderstorm development in the mid- to upper layers of the atmosphere as this wind picks up the warm air that's been trapped in this heat dome over the last couple of days. that could lift it and when it does so, it makes some of those convective thunderstorm clouds that could have the possibility of developing some dry lightning. right now the weather service says more of that impacts could be towards the north bay and into the mountains and once it goes into the mountains it reaches the point where it could rise even further and make those storms grow just a

back our natural air-conditioning for a lot of our microclimates, as we get a live look outside in dublinit's still a little bit hazy this morning, but not as bad as it was over the weekend when we had a lot more wildfire smoke coming in. we had the spare the air alerts. now as we take a look at what caused all of that smoke, the flat fire in southwestern oregon on our near surface smoke model it shows that it's going to be moving off to the east, so not into the bay area like it was over the last couple of days. our air quality continues to improve. our temperatures improving, too, all thanks to an ocean breeze, that westerly wind that's going to bring in some of those temperatures in the 60s to some 70s for the peninsula, and then some mid-70s across the bay to hayward, 82 for a high today in dublin and 87 degrees for livermore, with some low 90s in concord. and tomorrow we'll see those temperatures coming up just a few degrees for some of those valleys. we're back to the mid-90s for morgan hill, while mountain view will see a high of 80 degrees and we'll be in the low 90s for martinez.
