dulles, this is the second largest snowstorm on record. 28 inches falling there. wbi marshall almost 30 inches, making this the largest snowstorm on record. here's a look at your snowfall totals. you can see north and west of town, this was the big boom area up around frederick, hagerstown seeing about 34 inches in those areas, here in the district, about 22 inches. in southern maryland we sought a foot or a little bit more. ver on karks the snow is over, but there's another major component to the storm we're going to be feeling. >> we're still going to see the blowing snow across the area, winds at 20 to 25 miles per hour. they're really going to settle by the an, mid part of the day around lunch time. 25, 30-mile-per-hour winds. we'll talk more about those wind chills and the big cleanup that follows in a few. >> right now back to that breaking news. police shutting down all of 270 as well as a significant stretch of i-70. this is 270 at the 109 exit. you can see the highway is empty. traffic and accidents wreaked havoc on crews working to clear those roadways.
