as abc7 reporter dustin dorsey shows us, today , police and fire investigators finished clearing the home, but not without an alarming discovery. >> reporter: two days after the mass shooting in san jose that left nine dead, authorities were still on the scene friday at the home of suspected shooter sam cassidy to try and uncover anything they could find . after uncovering molotov cocktails, multiple guns and thousands of rounds of ammo in the home, special operations captain steve longoria found something new. >> we found a new suspicious device and we are not sure what it is and we will render it safe. what that means is we will set off a small charge, just to basically destroy it so it will not cause further harm. >> reporter: that small explosion you just heard was a save detonation of a suspicious device found at the home of sam cassidy. after further review, the device has been deemed safe. >> they discovered the device was in fact inert and was comprised of wires and batteries. due to the location of the item itself, it was located in the attic area of the residence. they took
