at one point, if you recall when dwight d. eisenhower came into theater, you have four carriers underway and they were operating together in the western pacific. that is what you get with those big chess pieces. the robust process that the united states navy can undertake. decisions have been made to extend the strike group for all the right policy reasons and what it means from a deterrence perspective, rest assured the secretary and president look at that very closely. there is a cost to that later as we think about the generation in the out years so every time you extend, there is a price to be paid. right now, it is a manageable cost. we are now at a tipping point from that perspective. they are going to stay there. we have other pieces on the board as well and this is also a place where allies and partners can come into play. i was just in -- i was just overseas and i was with my counterpart in the u.k. and we talked a little bit about what their carrier might be able to do. we will see how it plays out but you know, we don't fight
