i was up on the eagle creek trail and the pacific crest trail just before while the indian springs was burning on the eagle creek, but then we had the fireworks that set off the whole pacific gorge aflame, and phenomenal, what that did. oregon has had probably more success in any state in the country on stewardship projects and collaboratives. and that effort came from, we have this war, this war going on over our forests with some saying hey, they should be managed primarily to get forest to an old-growth state where they are fire resistant and don't mess with mother nature. and others think the solution to everything is to clear-cut. and so that war was unproductive, in seven all these court battles. out of that came to stewardship efforts of the collaborative efforts. we have hundreds of thousands of acres in oregon, the second growth forest which are really good for fire and they're really good for disease but the are not either great for either timber stands before ecosystems. there's a potential here for a win-win. that's what the stewardship projects and the collaboratives are a
