chopper 5 over the freeways in the east bay.ng towards the bay bridge, which is this is heading towards the macarthur maze now, you can see overhead from chopper 5, this is the worst of it right now. let's check the bay bridge toll plaza. you can see how it is stacked up. the metering lights were turned on early. westbound 24 approach that is the worst. that's the one you'll want to avoid this morning. it is starting to back up from lafayette into oakland. the carpool lanes are looking okay. as you can see in this camera, they are having extended hours so you can use those carpool lanes all day long. we saw it backed up to the macarthur maze before 5:45 this morning. and, of course, it continues to grow am if you are looking for an alternate, look at the golden gate bridge. traffic was lighter yesterday than on a typical morning with this bart strike going on. so obviously folks can use this if you just want to go the long way around, use the richmond/san rafael bridge cut over towards the golden gate. 101 is not backed up right
