sunny through the midlands and east anglia.t still sitting through the english channel and working its way northwards. so we may not be quite so lucky at the oval for the cricket. rain expected in the afternoon and continuing into the evening. the rain is moving back northwards in southern parts of england and wales. how quickly it gets north, that's the difficult thing, but for a good part of the day should have sunshine in wales, the midlands, east anglia and northern england. a slice of better weather in between the rain in the south and those showers are still there in scotland and northern ireland. some of those could be heavy with hail and thunder. similar numbers to recently. the rain does develop more widely across england and wales on saturday evening. some are heavy with strong winds again. that tends to sweep into the north sea and should be gone by sunday morning. that weather system out of the way, but we still have low pressure on the scene, which has been sitting here for days, it will still be there on sunday. q

further south again, some dry weather to be had across the midlands, east anglia and the south—east. of the rain from the word go will be quite heavy across parts of pembrokeshire and the south—west of england. into the afternoon, still little islands of brightness and dry weather across the south. perhaps the driest found across northern ireland. in the middle of the afternoon, pembrokeshire, southern wales and widely into the south—west of england, some rain quite heavy. 20, 30, a0 millimetres building up. even so, still islands of brighter weather. where we have some brightness in the south—east, looking at 18, 19, 20 degrees. a bit cooler further north, acceptable for the time of year. 14-17. what have we for wimbledon? dry enough, probably, until the middle part of the afternoon. clouds thickening, the chance of a shower. as we get deeper into the day, rain and low pressure and the fronts migrating across east anglia and the south—east. still there on the first part of wednesday. as they pull away, high—pressure toppling in across the british isles. then settling down very nicel

we'll continue to see that threat of some heavy showers and sam saunders —— thunderstorms across east angliat midlands, north—east england. elsewhere across england and wales who are more likely to stay dry through the afternoon, so this is 4pm this afternoon for the south—west of wales and england it's looking dry with some sunshine. heading further north into the midlands, that's where you are likely to catch a few sharp showers and thunderstorms. not all others will see them. where you do catch one you could see lying surface water. a few showers from northern england. northern ireland mostly dry, if fairly cloudy through the afternoon. quite a bit of cloud in scotla nd afternoon. quite a bit of cloud in scotland bringing a few spots of drizzly rain. as we head into the evening we'll keep that threat of heavy downpours, mainly across the east midlands, eastern england. if you do catch one of these showers they could cause some disruption to travel because we're going to have a lot of standing water on the roads, surface spray and hail and lightning a hazard as we head into the evening. th
