(pam) breaking news at 8 out of the east bay... where a brush fire is still burning dangerously close to homes... and forcing people to evacuate.(pam) thank you for joining us i'm pam moore.(ken) and i'm ken wayne. we've been tracking this fire since 4 o'clock this afternoon. and tonight it has burned 260 acres. tonight kron-4 meteorologist mabrisa rodriguez is here with the fire danger we're expected to see this weekend. but first justine waldman is live in concord ...justine are people still evacuated tonight. yes, and there is no estimate as to when people will be allowed back home.the fire marshal telling me it is until no teat of fire we will keep people out of the area vothe flames and smoke could be seen throughout the east bay.in all 200 to 300 homes were evacuated as this fire burned in the dry hills very close to two subdivisions. because there are no major fires burning right now lots of resources were available, which allowed fire teams to bring in air support right away including helicopter buckets and calfire planes.w

( marty ) in the east bay... police are investigating a shooting at a popular park that sent hundreds of people running for their lives. it happened at marina park in san leandro... around 6 o'clock friday evening. the trouble started after a party was supposed to take place. the park allowed a limit of 200 people. but about 700 people showed up after news of the party posted on social media. not long after the party started... someone fired a gun... and sent everyone into a panic. ( marty )police cleared the area and safely got everyone out. no injuries were reported... and police made no arrests. we want to talk about developing news in the east bay. authorities lifted health advisory for people after a fire burned through a junkyard. "today in the bay's" bob redell live, to be clear, that threat is over. >> reporter: that's right, marcus. still smell the fire in the air but fog to be worried about. within the past hour or so, fire in contra costa county lift thad health advisory saying it's okay to breathe normally. come back outside, reopen windows and doors after a fire burned through cars there at the a-1 auto recyclers along pittsburgh antioch highway. the fire started around 5:30 last night possibly with a candle in a tent in a nearby homeless encampment according to a fire department. flames burned into a field and into a junkyard releasing toxic fumes. the county issued that advisory to people to stay inside. that advisory lifted. we did speak with two business owners who stored their trucks here and at the time didn't know if their equipment survived the fire. >> when a call comes it's scary. hard things you worked hard fo

(robin) in the east bay...police in hercules are looking for two men who robbed a home depot twice in less than a week. kron 4's charles clifford has the story. the hercules police department says police the hercules police department says that back on june 12th officers responded to home depot on reports of someone stealing power tools just before 930 in the morning. the suspect were described as african american adult males and surveillance video from the store shows at least one of the men carrying several large items as he leaves the building without paying.witnesses reported that the suspects were driving a black bmw with dealer plates. officers spotted the vehicle leaving the araea on west bound 80 but following a short pursuit the suspects escaped. two days later on june 14th, officers again responded to the home depot on reports of robbery. this time the video show a single suspect who bears a strong resemblance to the suspect from two days earlier. he also appears to be taking some of the times as befo
