( darya ) also in the east bayick roads played a factor in a crash... that killed three family members. it happened on interstate-80... not far from the bay bridge toll plaza yesterday. the family's car crashed into a big- rig stopped on the side of westbound interstate- 80 in oakland. two women and a man died in the crash... a 17 year old was taken to the hospital. police say... the teen is related to the three people who died. they also believe speed may have been a factor in the crash. ( james ) happening today... the san mateo county district attorney will decide whether to charge five sherif's deputies in the death of a man who died after being tased by officers. chinedu okobi died back in october after a struggle with deputies. the sheirff's office says that okobi assaulted the deputies. after watching video of the incident... okobi's family says he was just walking down the street at the time of the incident. the district attorney has promised to release that video. the d-a will hold a news conference at 11:

police in the east bay investigating two separate freeway shootings from over the weekend. and one of them was deadly. the most recent happened in livermore. a 24-year-old woman was shot in the leg while driving on 580. it happened yesterday evening. the woman was sitting in the passenger side of the car. her and another person drove off the freeway to call police. the woman is expected to be okay. police do not have a description of the shooter or the shooter's car. ( robin ) the chp is also investigating a freeway shooting on highway 4 in concord. this shooting turned deadly. it happened saturday afternoon... and this morning we have learned the victim's name. the chp was investigating a silver honda that had drven off the road and hit a guard rail on eastbound highway 4 at port chicago highway. officers found bullet holes on the driver's side door. the woman behind the wheel died at the scene. she has been identified as 25-year-old destinee hillery from antioch. she was the only person in the car. and more teachers in the east bay could soon strike.ol in san ramon yesterday. the demonstration happened during the lunch hour-- and d not disrupt classes. teachers also walked out during lunchtime at country club elementary. teachers with the san ramon valley unified school district are currently voting to authorize a strike as contract negotiations are entering their final stage. they are asking for smaller class sizes.. and more than a three percent salary increase. ( james ) republicans in congress have introduced a new proposal that could change your child's education.( darya ) kron 4's washington correspondent drew petrimo explains how it would work. students from across the country told stories of their lives being changed after receiving scholarships to attend better schools. "paul shatswell" died yesterday after he was placed on life support... police got a call about a domestic incident and found the 45-year-old shot in the head lat weekend on barrie drive. shatswell was a principal at pittsburg adult education center. right now --his wife 39- year-old ámaria videsá is charged with attempted murder... but those charges could be upgraded. she is being held on 2-million dollars bail at the contra costa sheriff's office jail in martinez. the couple have 8 children together. this is the city of pittsburg's first homocide of the year. ( will ) police in san francisco are investigating a shooting that killed one person and sent 5 people to the hospital. the shooting happened saturday night on the 13-hundred block of fillmore. police say the person killed was a 25-year-old man from san francisco. officers did not release information about th

we're continuing to talk with east bay mud. that component of the existing intertie in hayward is certainly very interesting, but east bay mud actually has access to multiple supplies, so we were thinking about this a little differently. when we were talking earlier in 2012, we were looking at taking water off the sacramento river at their freeport takeout, but the majority of their supply comes from the river, they have an upstream source like you do, primarily sierra sourced, and upstream of east bay mud is amador water agency. their watershed coincides with east bay mud's, and they get water also off the mokelumne river, and they are interested in testing this concept. they have -- they retail to areas in amador county, and they have conserved water that they have proven a conservation for and the ability to transfer, so that's what we're trying to take advantage of here. so we are moving forward with them on a pilot water transfer. it would be for 1,000-acre feet. the point of delivery actually from amador, our point of del

(robin) in the east bay...our people were shot over the weekend inside a iinside a business in downtown oakland. the victims, two men and two women, were shot just after midnight sunday at a business in the 300 block of 14th street. a man has been arrested in connection with the shooting. police were not able to provide any additional information about what led to the shooting or the identity of the shooter. (robin) we're learning more about an assault that happened on the u-c berkley campus last month. authorities say, a man who's not a student at the university, passed through the open market place and got into an altercation with hayden williams. on friday, officers arrested zachary green who was caught on camera punching williams in the face. witnesses say the victim was out protesting jussie smollett, who's accused of staging a hate crime. u-c berkeley says neither williams or green are affiliated with the university.
