it's mostly our hillsides right about the bay in the east bay and then further north and the north bay where you are seeing some impacts, anything you're seeing this morning is likely just to be areas of marine layer and low cloud cover, not so much smoke and haze. we will see air quality good for most of the bay today, obviously to our north and to our north and east around the dixie fire as we're having that big air quality impact. fortunately for us in the bay area. most of that smoke has been set out of the region. but there is some smoke sitting just off shore, which is gradually going to defuse in with our onshore breeze the next couple of days. so you may notice a moderate impact from time to time. little faint, smell of smoke, but nothing too drastic as the bulk of all that smoke and ash continues to be sent out of the region to the east sparing us at least in the bay area. the worst of that impact. it will be foggy at the coast today. some clearing going on. but definitely cooler than our inland areas 60's for most of our coastal spots will be cited inland areas on the warm si

a couple pockets in the east bay and santa clara category have been in the moderate. tomorrow, widespread unhealthy air quality levels for the north bay, east bay, and santa clara valley. this is forecast. it does not mean it will be exactly like this. if this is off by a full category, we are in the orange group. that is likely where will be into the first half of the weekend. maybe a slight improvement and air quality on saturday. this is not where we want to be. we will get updated data in the next couple of hours. i do not think it will look better as we head into the weekend. we are factoring in the wildfire smoke dropping our temperatures a couple degrees. if we had zero smoke the hot spots would be 105 to 110 on friday. instead, they will only be around 100 degrees. widespread 80s and 90s inland. 80s around the bay. look at the full weekend forecast in a few minutes. >>> 136,000 acre outdoor fire is 12% contained as it creeps closer to the tahoe basin. it has destroyed 600 buildings already. it is threatening 17,000 more. sheriff's office, evacuation order. >> s

a look outside this morning at your east bay camera situated right above the east bay in the berkeley hills. does show the low lying cloud cover now that cloudy blanket is very compacted this morning. so where you are seeing fog. you are certainly seeing some lower visibility that portions of the peninsula through the golden gate out into the east bay in pockets too. north bay pockets and even a couple pockets on the peninsula. further southward. so just be mindful that you will be running into some of this low gray at times this morning that is in fact fog. that is making for some lower visibility spots. winds mostly from the coastline today. and this is beginning a change, of course, after what was northerly winds that carried in so much of that smoke over the weekend. we are going to begin to see a sweeping effect. as of this morning, though, air quality is moderate to poor depending on where you're talking. look at all that orange, especially further inland, the sweeping effect of that coastal breeze is keeping some of the north bay and peninsula a little bit better as far as air

inland and the east bay but air quality will tip into the moderate category. we will sill still see the same spots with higher concentrations of smoke saturday. inland and north bay especially napa county and higher elevations of the diablo range. no spare the air alerts in effect. we will keep an eye on things because air quality forecasting is strictly tricky. that will push out next week. temperatures made it to the low 90s in the east bay, 92 in concord and little more, low 80s in san jose and santa rosa reached 79. remote 78, 65 in san francisco, a few degrees low normal and low 60s on the coast. current temperatures and in the 60s, 70s and 80s. temperatures tonight will drop to the 50s with some of that fog spreading. you see it on futurecast and a quick look shows the clouds spreading back from the pacific, higher in the absence fair but no instability so we don't have to worry about the shower or thunderstorm chance that had us concerned last night. temperatures tonight will drop into the mid to upper 50s to around 60 and then we warm-up tomorrow. low 6
