there you have the east bay shoreline all lit up there and off to the distance. see the bay and the sky. those winds, by the way, there you have one of the east bay shoreline pointing right down from the hills. so that provides a little bit of extra heating, by the way, which is why the east bay shoreline is in that heat advisory. we have that going on in to 11 that covers. also the south bay and san francisco as well as a good chunk of the peninsula, too. now offer current numbers. we've got the 50's still hanging on in the north bay, but 69 very freakish degrees at this hour for san francisco. 55 for half moon bay with a lot of 60's to the east bay and the contrast from yesterday, world touch cooler along the coast and into some of the pocket. you can see inland in the east bay. now upstream, we do see something that's going to change is still tomorrow. things will change. but more importantly, monday, monday night into tuesday, big drop in temperatures and also a little bout with some rain showers. that lineup. there's a front that's going to deliver the goods.

but once you head down into the bay that veil of fog very, very evident across much of the east bay shoreline out towards up into the north bay and out into the carquinez too. pretty wide coverage here. conquered out towards ville, a help up through american canyon through napa. santa rosa through nevado down the coastline and along the east bay shoreline. these areas are particularly foggy this morning and this maps not exaggerating when it says visibility at 0. it is well below a quarter mile for many areas. we will see big improvements come the late morning and by the afternoon we're sitting under some sunshine in the meantime, though, we are under some dense fog advisories from the national weather service across the north bay. but we still do have fog out to the east bay as well. just not an advisory status in those areas. 50's and 60's for current temps, oakland and san mateo at 60 degrees. berkeley nsf at 58 while pedaling a do each sitting at 57 right now. later today, it's ought to be all about the sunshine in the warmth with daytime highs. actually even warmer than yesterday as we'r

under heat advisory here just temporarily down the peninsula into the south bay and up the east bay shoreline. a lot of 90's in the spots. you don't have ac. make sure you're getting too cool. spot cooling centers are opening up for a lot of the bay area. you just a trip to the grocery store, sunshine all the way out to the coastline. this high-pressure ridge, it's in place to the north and west of us offshore breeze because of it pushing that ocean cool their way from us. but things do switch up into next week. we're going to be looking at a big cool down low pressure area along with this dip in the jet stream result in a few showers come tuesday of next week. likely and just a huge cool down starting on monday, winds directly the opposite of a cool ocean breeze. it's northeasterly wind pushing up against the coast. that's what's keeping the cool ocean air away from us. and that's why our city like san francisco up near 90 degrees along the embarcadero. if you're heading out there today, you're going to seek shade and all the water possible 80's towards the coast. nice to dip their feet into

east bay. some of our warmest temperatures are actually along the east bay shoreline hayward, you're warmer thanre today. 95 compared to 94 degrees. oakland at the same temperatures danville and conquered all at 90 degrees. and oakland are also the same temperatures. antioch are normal hot spot both at 90 degrees. so that tells you something. we've got some really hot numbers out there today. as for the next 7 days, temperatures, we'll cool down in a big way today and tomorrow easily. the hottest a sunday beginning that cooldown look at the coast. cooling from the 80's to the 60's by sunday. and then the rest of us really cooling down into monday. that chance of showers moving in. as for the road, he going out there as far as the bay bridge goes? we have no backup at the metering lights. you know, it's going to be busy later on today with everyone heading into the city for fleet week. but for now, this isn't friday morning commute. we can call friday light for the time being anyways, golden gate bridge. you saw that started my weather forecast. no fog and no backups i'm john, thank you that. >>

view from the east bay shoreline just before the sun leaves us for today. quick view of the temperatures. they're pretty hanging in the mid to upper 60's at this hour, even along the coast, not bad with pacifica at 65. we've got a 67 going on. as you can see, 66 rather san francisco temperance. 67. and it looks like 74 petaluma. the quick contrast that we have from yesterday. it's a cooler in spots as this hour than it was just 24 hours ago. and we're going to see a general trend of moisten up the atmosphere in a little bit more than intrusion of cloud cover towards the mid to latter portion of the week. what about the visibility? looks like this fog doesn't really get back. although the marine layer is being encouraged by this onshore wind. but you won't have a problem with fog to start things off. speaking of waking up to considerable clouds, aloft most of the readings in the upper 50's by noon again, mostly cloudy and mild, upper to middle 60's. as we get to the afternoon clouds thinning in. nice as temperatures will be well inland into the lower 70's. n

see not very foggy out there for downtown, but there's that little line of it right along the east bay shoreline. that is pushed right into the east bay hills. now right now, skies of dried out for northern california. you're noticing there's not a lot going on across the region. unlike yesterday when we did have showers to our north, that's because we have this high pressure. ridge now building in more and more. and this is going to contribute to an ever warming forecast for the remainder of the week by the end of this week, we're going to be looking at some really warm temperatures out there. so some morning fog for now. but we see a good dose of afternoon sunshine. pretty much everywhere into tomorrow morning. we are going to see that return of fog slipping right into the bay area. wednesday afternoon, though, clears out in tomorrow's going to be even warmer under that afternoon. sunshine as will be the case of the thursday. we actually see some of that warm, dry air pushing out towards the coast that will make thursday the very warmest day all across the board. so you can get the idea here a

flag warning for much of the bay area everywhere except for places along the peninsula and the east bay shoreline elevation, it's also the valleys, north bay valleys, east bay valleys, even the santa cruz mountains. so here's the fire weather model. you see this yellow and orange, reddish colors here. this is the area that is most risk. and you can see in the overnight hours to 45 santa rosa packets of the east bay and in towards the sacramento valley. and it really stays that way until the 06:00am hour. and then until noon. so those are when that's when we're seeing the strongest winds too. and then it looks like that risk goes away towards sunday afternoon into monday, a future wind gusts. so that is what we're tracking 34 miles per hour expected santa rosa. 3 an hour. 25 in napa. have observed 61 miles per hour in mount saint and the 09:00pm hour. so winds are whipping in the higher elevation. as you can see, going to be breezy sunday. and it's going to be that dry hot when those offshore winds. and that's also going to be warming up to temperatures as well. so definitely want to be careful ou

you can start to see a little bit of the east bay shoreline for near east bay hills. be right here. our rainfall still being concentrated well to the north near the oregon border. currently, as for the bay area itself, we didn't see so much of rainfall as it was just a lot of mist and drizzle overnight enough of it to actually be detected on a lot of our accumulation sensors. so about a 10th of an inch of accumulated water from that mist drizzle. and yesterday's rainfall on a lot of our hillsides here in the bay area over the past. 24 hours that did make roadways wet this morning and still a few slick spots. one-two punch of cold fronts swinging across the region, allowing us what is just a very moisture laden atmosphere. the past couple of days and what we are going to be seeing today is another round of sprinkles this afternoon after a few little areas of mist this morning. we will see some afternoon clearing at least early on late afternoon. we'll start to see showers pushing back in. these will stay light and brief but showers nonetheless. and this could impact your evening comm

so this has been a really rough morning commute for east bay shoreline right there. secondary accident along the san mateo bridge now resulting in all those problems forming all over again after what was already a singular, very bad commute earlier this morning. so we're just right back to this. we're going to keep you updated. but again, right now it is about 62 minutes to get you across the san mateo bridge. don't even bother with it. what you want to do is go down further south across the dumbarton bridge conditions there of really eased up. so you are going to be looking at a much smoother commute that way even going up north towards the bay bridge. you're going to be seeing an easier drive at 17 minutes to get you across right now, which as you know, this time of morning isn't ideal, but it's a whole lot better than over an hour to get you across the san mateo bridge currently looking at the richmond center fell. you can see what all is this right here. we had, unfortunately, a fatal accident last night involving a big rig hitting the toll plaza. there breaking

usually bike san francisco, east bay shoreline down the peninsula are all under heat advisories today. you're going want to find a spot to get to. that's going to be nice and cool. those heat advisories continue into tomorrow as well. 80's 90's for the city today. if you're going to the embarcadero to watch fleet week just know it is going to be mid-nineties there on those warm streets. and so you want to stay hydrated. find a cool shaded spot to watch the air show saying carlos palo alto up to 90 degrees in san jose up to 90 for some spots right along the bay shore, like, hey, we're going to be far warmer than our inland areas like concord in danville, only at 90 degrees. while hayward will be at 95 and the act right at 90 degrees today. santa rosa through center fell also in the 90's, even mill valley at 91 tomorrow, just as hot inland. but after that, we start to cool things down and by the finish of the weekend, it's a lot closer to normal. by monday, downright fall again. 60's and 70's at the warmest was showers making their return rain high. john, thank you for that. take advant

even though with the service, we do have some fairly dry air lows projected tonight, mid 40's east bay shoreline, upper 40's at that up to the north bay mid to lower 40's, san francisco coming in about 50 and half moon bay. 49 waking up to considerable clouds will call at 10 o'clock. there you have it approaching 60 by noon. they're still pro filling up most of the skies, kind of mostly cloudy in all this upper to middle 60's. and then by the late afternoon, we should see the thinning out of the clouds and nice that's going to make for kind of a nice evening. those temperatures should probably be into the 60's fukurecast for you can see we're talking about the marine layer remains out to sea. they're starts that coming up on us a little bit by tomorrow morning. then it will thin out by the afternoon hours. so this is relatively uneventful. it's the stop upstream. that gets more to show more of that coming up in a bit. grant. >> thank you, dave. heads up. if you're going to be driving to the sierra that day was just talking about caltrans is going to be closing several lanes and ramps along i-80

we'll see upper 60s in san francisco, low 70s as we make our way around the east bay shoreline, and only the mid to upper 70s for martinez and through the santa clara valley, 73 degrees. for tomorrow, here's where that high pressure starts to settle a little bit. we start to see those 80s return but only a few of them out in concord. fairfield at 82. the rest of us looking at a niles day filled with more snipe and those winds that will die down. but that sunshine and the beautiful weather will be a little bit short lived looking to our long-range forecast. more rain chances on the way for the start of our weekend. most of it will still stay concentrated to parts of northern california, where most of that bull's-eye has been in the past couple weeks right there with the border with oregon. friday night it pushes on through. by saturday morning, maybe some of us get a little bit of that drizzle, but it will be focused in marin county and up. i see another chance here coming in more monday. this one might be a little broader reaching more parts of the bay area, but we'll fine-tune those det
