a suspect is dead and police dog wounded after a confrontation involving the chp in east oakland. it happened about 9:00 last night near wentworth and international. two officers made a traffic stop and a passenger armed with a handgun jumped out of the suv. the officers and police dog pursued the man and at one point both officers opened fire. the suspect died of the wounds. the dog is expected to recover. chp trying to find the driver and the passengers. >>> a police dog also played a key role in the arrest of a burglary suspect in san jose. police say a manholed up in an apartment building near city college after attacking two officers yesterday. after four hours, that suspect tried to escape but the dog caught him before he could take off. >>> security forces in russia are stepping up efforts to find three women who could be planning suicide bombings during the olympics next month. this poster warns about women known as black widows. the women may be out for revenge after their militant husbands or brothers were killed by security forces. russian officials say one of the women
