by midday, a lot of the snow starting to wrap up in far eastern massachusetts that linger longest from the south shore back down to the cape and it is going to be a wet pasty consistency because it's not like we have arctic dry air that's going to be in place. so snowfall totals here we have a swath of 4 to 8 inches for lot of eastern massachusetts including the city of boston tapering off 2 to 4 along and outside 495 back up to concord and then coding to 2 the farther north you go. we are and anticipating a shut off. because of the rain taking longer to mix 2 to 4 to the mid and outer cape and a coating to nantucket. we will watch this area right in here including most of eastern massachusetts height of the storm wouldn't be surprised to see school days and cancellations tomorrow because of the snow that's coming down. so the wind won't be that gusty at the coastline the we will talk more about the wind and take you out through the next storm we will watch as well as we head into monday night and the tuesday time frame so details on that coming up in a few minutes back to you. >> than

but it's mainly rain in eastern massachusetts. you get outside of 495 and a burst of snow will likely change and mix with sleet and freezing rain overnight on tuesday. and into early on wednesday morning. so wednesday morning maybe a slick start again outside of 495 back through southern new hampshire until we change over to rain which happens by late morning. we taper off to showers. not too bad. temperatures up in the 40s. that's just one little wave of low pressure. the storm center itself back through the ohio valley. look at heavy rain with it too. back in wednesday night and it's going to pour into the first part of thursday and drag into warm air and wind may gust over 50 miles per hour and we will see the rain taper off late in the day on thursday. so highs today up around 40. week. and rockport plymouth at 40 degrees and mid-40s so actually a little above average in metro west and southern new hampshire. tonight dipping into the teens in the coldest spots. worcester 19. 16 in jaffrey and most communities running in the 20

notice how in south eastern massachusetts as the wind turns to the southwest, you may get closer to 30 degrees. with temperatures like this and snow showers coming down, i don't see huge impacts on the roads unless the showers come down hard enough. there's the potential they do just that. you can see how the clouds are starting to fill in. snow showers in western connecticut. there's the activity off to the west. all of the energy is working eastward. i think the bulk of the activity stays west of the wooster area. by lunchtime, notice the snow showers are breaking out across the area. perhaps a couple of embedded snow squalls possibility here coming out of metro west toward the boston area around the time of the evening commute. i just want you to keep in mind the fact that during the afternoon in to the early potential for these snow showers to develop. not everyone will see them. where you get one it is a quick coating to an inch of snow. it could make the roads a little bit slippery. they will wind down tonight. temperatures in the teens and 20's. still a front coming in tomorrow.
