high pressure is going to stay into the eastern pacific. go from northern california to southern california today and tomorrow. it has allowed for the winds to shift. a light northerly wind warming up the bay area, southern california bringing plenty of sunshine. in fact temperatures all around the bay will be warmer than average. how about that 90 in los angeles. some freezing fog in the northern sierra with temperatures in the upper 20s. 61, but mainly 70s and 80s today. 66 half moon bay. nice and mild there with 76 in palo alto. san jose, low 80s inland east bay. 69 in monterey. we have quite an about-face with our weather. detroit low to mid 40s for the game this evening. nice day tomorrow. sea breeze cooling us off on monday. more cooling on tuesday and rain moving in by midday. then maybe an inch of rain in the north bay. quarter to half an inch and linger into first day of november on thursday. so if you like the rain that is coming, or above normal temperatures we got that, too. >> word of advice based on personal experience, clean

warning center head, he said this is the first time we've received a tsunami warning from the eastern pacific. from the west coast of the urth states. usually it comes from an asian origin. so this is kind of a unique, kind of to understand realtime what's going to happen, in this particular scenario, you may remember about an hour after this earthquake happened, we weren't looking to tsunami warnings. there were some advisories. but now this warning for hawaii, because they have this deep ocean assessment. they have the monitors across the pacific. they saw some activity. and so the observers said, we think something's going to happen here. so that's why they issued that tsunami warning. it is now 10:28 in hawaii. all shores of all the islands of hawaii are in danger for seeing some waves. that initial wave may not be the biggest wave. we could see a succession of waves before we see the main wave that will move across hawaii. could be 1 meter to 2 meters, natalie. >> okay, yes. we should know that very soon. karen, thank you very much. that's such an interesting graphic showing the energy t

and unusual that hawaii takes -- is in the direct line for tsunami all the way from the eastern pacific. we've been talking with people who are running hotels. officials there working the story. and we also have one of our cnn producers who does happen to be on vacation in hawaii. seems like there is always one there where we need them. that is oggie martin. you're on the big island safe in your hotel. you've been up on the roof with a good sign from the beach. are you seeing anything? >> no. not a whole lot. i will say there was about probably 10 or 15 minutes ago a little bit of a discernible change in the way the surf was coming ashore on this beach. it's been fairly robust all day. it actually calmed down for probably about five minutes. it almost appeared to be sort of the opposite effect of what one might envision with a tsunami coming ashore. i can't be sure that it was. the behavior of the water definitely changed a little bit in that it actually calmed down for probably five or six minutes. >> well, we heard from a gentleman, victor sardino with the stsunami warning center sayi
