even in the eastern seaboard, the pacific coast could reach up to five meters so you don't want to be near these coastal areas. and here in the western japan pacific coast could top not a g surfing or being in the coastal areas. now not only this windy condition will be impacting the archipelago of japan. this is a zone of drenching rain passing through these areas. we're talking about up to 400 millimeters in southern sihkoku totalling up to about an additional 500 millimeters. so that could be as much as a meter as this storm passes through. and as for metropolitan tokyo, the population is about 13 million. people do rely on the public transportation but looks like this is going to be making a significant travel disturbance, as well as downing power lines here in the metropolitan tokyo as well, which is going to be very, very dangerous situation. so we'll keep a very close eye on this system. now we also have this tropical storm talin over the south china sea lingering over the east of hainan area. packing up to accumulation of rainfall in these regions. and this is going to be movi

now this is directly impacting the area with high waves as much as five meters in the eastern seaboards but also enhancing and exacerbating the southwestern monsoon. we have been talking about this for a long while now. the western seaboards will also see those high waves as much as five inches. and also the torrential rain to be targeted in the next 24. now take a look at this stationary front. it is lingering over taiwan yet again. and this is going to be bringing additional rainfall of 100 millimeters to some areas that has a report of 100 millimeters. so this is going to be further concern with the high risk of flooding, mudslides and land slides. we have a low pressure system that is along the stationary front that will be developing as it tracks northeast towards japan. kyushu and shikoku reasons are the area where significant rainfall could be possible just in the next 24 hours. flooding is also at very high risk in these regions. and then this will be moving in towards eastern japan by friday. also bulk of heavy rain to be found here in northeastern china, as well as northern vi

if you're anywhere from tennessee through the carolinas, even much of georgia off through the eastern seaboard, it will be just a picture perfect friday, saturday and sunday. really doesn't get much better than this. we'll deal with isolated storms down in florida this upcoming weekend, but it's your rainy season. trouble stuff in the milmiddle country, minneapolis and kansas city and now down around oklahoma city and tulsa. driving on interstate 40, good sized storms and still raining around tulsa. as far as dallas/ft. worth goes, these storms have been weakening. as of now we're dry, but i will expect a little bit of wet weather, i don't think you'll get downpours about an hour from now around ft. worth. so here's how the forecast looks. today gorgeous, perfect, you name it, 80s to upper 70s in many areas in the mid atlantic through northeast. it does get a little hot today, though. areas like chicago, the heat will be on. 91 for you. st. louis should be about 96. a little uncomfortable there. still very warm around dallas. as we take you through the weekend forecast, the problem spot, this

the main story is going to be sweltering hot conditions across the eastern seaboard. this is due to the high pressure system and it's continuously bringing hot air from the south. the southwestern corner of the u.s. is also dealing with very hot conditions and this is raising the risk of wildfires, particularly in the desert southwest. meanwhile, we've got ongoing thundershowers from ontario, down towards the texas panhandle. conditions are particularly severe in and around minnesota. and recent levels have reached their peaks in some locations. flood warnings will continue to be in effect across this area. but as you can see, shors will move out of this region over the next 24 hours. so that's good news. as for the highs, cooling down to 29 degrees in chicago. so still in the warmer side but much cooler than it was on wednesday. towards the east very very hot. 37 in washington, d.c. and the same goes for new york city. all right. finally, let's go over to europe. a low-pressure system is approaching the british isles, starting to produce lots of heavy rain. unfortuna

while now going into saturday, the whole front will continue to push off toward the eastern seaboard, bringing all of the rainfall and severe weather with it. even in southern florida, you are under flood watches down here. tropical moisture gets pulled out of the caribbean and today is the first of june that is the first official day of hurricane season out here in the atlantic. so just goes to show how much the sea surface temperatures are warm here and how much energy will be coming out of the caribbean. looking at temperatures, though, phoenix, high of 44, exceptional heat there. on the other side of the spectrum with winnipeg, only a high of 19, expecting to see some freeze watches going into your overnight hours here. over towards europe, here in eastern europe, a frontal area is continuing to bring widespread rain showers and severe weather into the balkans, while off towards the west, low pressure area is moving on towards the british isles, bringing rain showers, but also a cooldown in the temperatures. london with a high of 19 on your saturday. even madrid, high of 32. but t
