it appears at least the southern eastern united states will see impact out of this storm and bears monitoringow it will affect us and part of the reason for that is a, we need some ti time. but also the upper level flow will play very big role in this. take look. as the storm rolls north, this next trough we're talking later this week so thursday into the weekend, is going to start to dig in. depending on how the timing ends up, do they catch up to each other? does one move out first then the other moves out? that's what's going to really play a role in determining where this storm actually hits. if we're lucky the trough comes in quickly enough it will help steer the storm back out to sea. however, it is still a decent possibility that we end up at least with some pretty heavy rain and certainly some wind out of it. in the meantime as we look at storm scan at the local level at least the clouds broke. we finally got sunshine it's been long enough and the storm system that was responsible for the days on end worth of very dreary conditions that's finally starting to fizzle away here. so at le

jenna: interesting to look at earthquake forecasting as we are watching a major coast in the eastern united statesng an earthquake similar? >> very similar that we sort of known on any given day there's a chance of an earthquake and associate a probability with that. when we have a swarm like this it increases the likelihood. same thing as hurricane out in the ocean and we are trying to predict and likelihood that it will hit a coastal city. same idea, we are trying to look into the future and come with a likelihood. jenna: what about that was notable? >> this is a small swarm, a few hundred earthquake, the largest 2.3 but down in sea, very close to san andreas. there's a lot of activity close to a big and increases the likelihood and that's what gets us alarmed. jenna: walk us through the numbers. the likelihood of an earthquake on any given day is what? >> 7 days, in a 7-day period a likelihood of big earthquake is 1 and 6,000. jenna: and so this forecast suggested a heightened alert about that, probability, what was that in. >> so somewhere in the range of 1 and 3,000 and 1 and a 100. 1% likeli

so that warmer air does track east, but you can still see cool pocket of air over eastern united statestarts to lift out during the day-to-day. reason jet stream is flat right now and that is how you receipt i much keep your temperatures near average. we were close to average yesterday. it buckles to the north allowing some of that warmer air to build in from the south. now warmth doesn't get too far north but enough past the delaware valley to get us back above average tomorrow, maybe ten to 15 degrees above average. that puts us in the 70-degree range for afternoon highs especially monday afternoon for warm spot. region has a warm front tracking through great lakes. we do see showers, snow southern canada, northern new england but south of the warm front we will break out in the clear skies a lieutenant of warmth developing just to our south and west over the ohio valley. so that will track north east ward into the delaware valley. we will keep things nice and dry. tomorrow we will get a cold front. shower chances are pretty much later in the afternoon. the most of the weekend does st

now the latest track doesn't even make landfall down in the eastern -- southeastern united states. this is the first track that's come out in the last several days from the national hurricane center that actually takes the cone of uncertainty away from our area. so this is trend we've been seeing since last night with the track moving farther away from us and now it looks like it's going get shoved out to sea. the reason is that there's a really deep trough that is projected to develop in the models over us and this will block the progression of this storm. in this scenario we would be scott free. spaghetti plot models haven't been upgraded but since last night you can see the idea was to keep this away from us. this is still more than three days away and there could be another change but right now the trend is certainly in our favor. we also have tropical storm nicole that formed late yesterday. this one is going to get blocked by matthew for awhile but eventually try and hook back toward the west-northwest perhaps heading toward bermuda. we'll keep our eyes on nicole. your exclus
