eboni is tracking the storm for us. let's check in with her. >> meteorologist: well, i'm monitoring phailin hazard it ass its way inland. unfortunately, this is a very large system which means that conditions will continue to deteriorate over the next 24 hours. we won't be completely done with the rain, the heavy wind until sunday evening. expect more rain and wind. and you can see landfall has already occurred just within the last hour or so, but we still have the rest of the system to get through before things will continue to wind down. so right now we've already seen the heavy rain and it continues to fall. we'll see severe storms lasting with this overnight into early sunday morning and finally by sunday morning that's when further weakening is expected, and we'll see this down graded to a tropical storm. winds going in excess of 120 miles today all the way down to 40 mph even less as we get into sunday morning. here is the particulars as it makes landfall. winds whipping upwards of 124 miles per hour. even gusting

. >> meteorologist: i'm meteorologist eboni deon tracking thundershowers all the way back to the plains where it has been very soggy. in texas you can see showers ongoing but the good news showers are starting to wind down right along the tail end of that frontal boundary as it has picked up steam and pushes off east. while we still have wet weather around, our flash floods watches have been dropped as we deal with flood warnings across the extreme southern tip, and that includes victoria. we'll watch for minor flooding there. clouds and wet weather holding temperatures down only into the mid 70s. that's at least six degrees below average for this time of year. as we get into the day on thursday and isolated showers, too, otherwise we're going to see unsettled weather conditions and temperatures all the way into the weekend. by son we'll get a chance to dry out completely. unfortunately, it looks like more soggy weather heading to georgia. we're seeing the clock of it now but the showers will increase and some of the heaviest rain will be falling in this area over the next 24 hours when

let's check in on the conditions with metrologist ebony dion. the flooding continues to be a problem, right. >> that's right. we have a loft of moisture that is in place. the worst of the storm is over. it's lifting north wards and weakened now that it has been over land for the last 24 hours. so once it moved over the land mass it weakened considerably. still falling apart. look at the orange shading - that's the heavy clouds and showers and thunder storm activity. around odisha conditions will improve. we are dealing with the on and off rain showers. most of the heavier rain is concentrated north. we'll have the wind to deal with and the flooding rains, and mudslides as well. here is a glimpse of what people are dealing with today. a lot of falling trees blocking roadways and getting into areas, including their homes. of course, we have seen the weak structures destroyed completely, and we will watch the impact being felt over the next 24 hours - more rain and more gusty winds at times. >> at least 80 people have been killed, more than 100 oth

joining me now is the extraordinary ebony boykin herself.also doing activities, you're also working for pay. how do you balance it all? >> it's hard. you learn time management as time goes on. i mean, there are going to be many times where you miss somethings or you oversleep, but eventually you find your stride and find out how much time to aslot for different things, and once you start to get the hang of everything, it feels good to be balancing everything. >> you told me a little bit earlier that you're starting film studies. tell me about that decision? >> i've loved for a long time and i figured it's in the general direction of what i want to do with my life and tv journalism. >> so tell me, you want to be a tv journalist? that's something you've talked to me about before? >> yes, yes. >> so last time you were here, i said, come do an internship with mhp. i absolutely meant it and i know we had a little time finding housing this year. do you think you might be able to make this year? >> yeah, i think we can swing it. >> we want you to h

she is joined by ebony williams and liz macdonald.'s start with you. >> we keep hearing that we need more spending and what we need is job creation and income growth. this includes an unsustainable situation and the government continues to outspend received. after weeks of conversation, we still just kicked the can down the road and neither side really coming up with his unsustainable problem. >> can we keep it justified? >> no, i don't think so. there are elderly americans and impoverished americans in need egg kind of program. the way we are executing this is irresponsible. >> what you mean by the way we are executing it, what does that mean? >> it lacks eligibility requirements amir to relax. we need something that comes in and say these are the core rules he need to abide by to even qualify for these programs in the first place. we could have yearly renewals on a more stringent basis and we can talk about the nutritional values of the foods that are even available on the food stamp program. there's a lot of things we can do to mak

ebony gordon's one and a half-year-old daughter turned to run when one man shot at another in a courtyard full of children. she was shot in the back of the head. the mother made it to te hospital behind the ambulance. >> i was holding her in my arms as she was dying. >> i can't imagine how hard that was. what did you say to her? >> wake up, and i love you. >> and then what happened? >> she died. >> did you feel her go? >> yeah. like, her body weight just dropped, like she got real heavy, like she wasn't that heavy as i was holding her, but i could tell when she died because her body weight just dropped like she got real, real heavy. >> that's a burden many families in this neighborhood feel. this is a memorial to a one-year-old girl who was shot and killed just at the end of this summer. she was actually in the arms of her baby-sitter. he baby-sitter was shod -- shot through the back. >> hough is that woman doing? >> she is a strong woman. throughout that interview her mother was sitting behind me crying but she was tough. and her only tough time is when someone comes in with a little gir
