this morning, edgewood road crossing the cedar river is open. the downtown but regular motorists will have to wait for the all- clear saturday morning. this morning, edgewood road crossing the cedar river is open. the city says downtown bridges should be open to traffic saturday. that includes all i-380 ramps leading into the downtown area. bus service will also resume saturday. and starting monday, the linn county-cedar rapids solid waste agency will start collecting garbage and recycling within the evacuation they can put out their normal trash container plus two 35-gallon bags for free. the final flood barriers are down and all the male inmates are back in jail at the linn county courthouse this morning. the county moved them to other facilities last weekend. workers are still removing flood barriers from the sheriff's office. that's set to re-open monday. progress isn't coming along as quickly for cedar rapids city hall. it might not reopen for up to 30 days. the city says the building workers pumped a lot of it out. the damage was mostly to basement rugs and drywall. members of the american red cross are trying to keep morale high as people start to return home. finn says she snuck into a bathroom and sent an emergency text to a friend who called police to the edgewood road apartment. finn says bivins had taken her to a downstairs apartment of a neighbor... and attacked her right in front of officers. edgewood road bridge is going to be closed. the water is going to be covering up the approaches to that. as we look farther along ellis we see flooding down there. so close to ko road. also in the time check neighborhood boulevard we would see the potential pore flooding. this assumes there are no things that are able to keep the water back. assuming no sandbags or hesco barriers. and just because those precautions would be taking place. closer to downtown we do see that extending on the east side of the river. the river. up to sixth or 7th street. we've been talking a lot about the czech village as well as newbo. we see that pretty much encompassing all those areas. we can hope that will hold in those areas. we'll head farther downstream. prairie creek. prairie creek will back the jones park golf course. that extends off toward the west. eventually the impacts aren't quite as strong. we'll probably be approaching 6th street southwest. we'll back off to the east closer to highway 30. full expectation highway 30 will remain open
