elias: and i'm elias johnson... elias: weather is always first on good morning iowa... in with central iowa's most meteorologist sam: weather adlib: if you liked the gloomy and wet look of yesterday you are in luck, because we have more of the same around today! clouds morning through the afternoon with plenty of rain stuck in the afternoon temps. the rain today is going to be heaviest through the morning hours the afternoon much lighter and more scattered. temperatures today are going to be able to stay fairly mild despite the heavy cloud cover and rain with a high in the lower 60s. tonight we are going to see with a few scattered across the state. wednesday is going to be a cold and windy day as our winds slowly with more scattered showers during the day. highs wednesday occur around midnight, but during the afternoon we'll probably see them only climb into the low 50s. thursday looks cold and windy with highs in the mid to upper 40s, but temps should fall even colder through the weekend. we still have a very good chance friday late afternoon through the evening. whil

elias: and i'm elias johnson... elias: weather is always first on good morning iowa... in with central iowa's most accurate forecast... meteorologist sam schreier. sam: (adlib toss) sam weather adlib: today we are looking at heavy snow accumulations with conditions warranting warning for muchf iowa. snow will be falling first in northwest iowa during the morning hours with accumulations starting as soon as 6 or 7am. here in central iowa we will still noon before we see rain to a rain snow mix as temperatures will still be in the upper 30s. by roughly 2 to 3pm our rain/snow mix should transition completely over into snow and accumulations will really start showing up by 4pm or so and continue to stack up as we head through the evening. the primary band of snow should occur roughly over the highway 30 corridor with 8 to 10 inches possible through that area. as of now it looks like highway 20 will still see large accumulations with 6-9 inches possible. the metro should see around 6 to 8 inches of snow, but south of the metro snow totals should be dramatically lower as this

elias: elias: let's get into the top five this morning.... elias: a fight outside a des moines nightclub turned deadly over the weekend... polk county deputies responded to a call outside of evolution nightclub early sunday morning. they found 20 year old dashwan smith had been shot and three others injured. smith died at the hospital. police have not made any arrests in the case. sabrina: in the number two spot this morning... sabrina: police make arrests in two other homicides from the weekend... in waukee, officers found 41-year-old gino risola shot multiple times at a home on southeast carefree lane. police arrested 42-year old brendan mcguinness and charged him with first degree murder. this is waukee's first homicide in nearly 40 years. sabrina: and a teen has been arrested for a murder in des moines. police found 28 year old jose lopez shot inside a home friday night. the investigation lead to the arrest of 17 year old josue socop. elias: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door... elias: university of missouri foo
