well senator elizabeth warren who's a major consumer advocate and originally had the idea for the consumer financial protection bureau she's introduced a new act recall called the bank on students fairness act which would allow students to borrow from the federal reserve not from the department of education but through the federal reserve via the department of education at the same rate that the big banks get when they borrow from the fed so right now student loan interest is set to double on july first from three point four percent to six point eight percent that's on stafford loans which are the most common type of federally subsidized loans. for the big banks borrowing from the fed directly there is a discount window that allows them to borrow at historically wrote low rates of plain seventy five percent now it's absurd that banks can borrow at point seven five percent homeowners seeking thirty year mortgages are getting three or four percent on their new mortgages and students are going to have to borrow at six point eight percent i mean students are in a very tough position right now

elizabeth warren took scott brown's seat in the senate, but in the special election to fill massachusetts other u.s. senate seat, the romney and scott brown folks are trying to find themselves a new meal ticket in the republican candidate in that case, staffer from romney iowa 2012 and romney new hampshire twef who's heading up the campaign. it's the romney communications director, who also had the job for scott brown, it's the romney digital rapid response director, it's the romney campaign treasurer. eric fernstrum himself is in the real power position in the massachusetts senate campaign, which is not at the campaign itself at all, he is at the pac working from the theoretical outside with unlimited money to try to elect the republican candidate to that massachusetts senate seat. the national republican party has also sent senate campaign staffers into massachusetts to work on the campaign. just yesterday they worked another $400,000 ad buy in the race. that comes on top of their previous $400,000 ad buy, which in massachusetts in an off-year election is a whole heck of a lot of money.
