northeast around elkton. you get the idea. the winds are shifting. what we've seen over the last few days was northeasterly wind that kept us cooler. added to moisture in the atmosphere. because of a front that's stalled to our south and east for the last week or so, we haven't been able to get rid of the potential for afternoon showers. ripples along that front have created that chance every afternoon. high pressure is clearing our skies. while it's not bringing us drier air in the sake of dew points, moist out there. it's helping to eat into that front. it's staying to the south. could meander back and bring another chance of showers, but primarily along the shore, this is the forecast for this day. warmer air is coming in around that high. we'll see temperatures soar into the 90-degree range. we're not going to be below that like we have been. we're going past it. that's the case. let's look at the tropics. first named storm of the season. mid-august, ana is about 1,010 miles to the east of the leeward islands. expected to impact the islands poten

and 86 up in elkton. everyone pretty much coming down from the mid mid- to upper 80 degree range. we see the warm, humid air being pumped into our region. today, temperatures spiked a little bit. not quite as high as they could have gotten. but these winds still bringing in very warm air indeed. we're seeing a bit of a change now. and that is going to come by way of several things. this is a picture of tropical storm danny. now spinning out in the atlantic. the center of circulation with danny, oddly enough, is not where you see all of the activity. it is actually off to the west here. you'll start to see some of these convict -- connect -- convective thunderstorms. when it does, and this is very important, we're going to slow this down a little bit. this is the storm pass, the cone of probability, where we expect to see this, friday into saturday. slowed it down here, because this is an important update from the national hurricane center. as the storm starts to parallel maryland and the shores, still registers as a tropical storm. it does not turn into a category 1 storm until it

we have 87 in elkton. 79 in oakton. and winds coming in, bringing in very warm air. today, our temperatures spiked. we did get up to 92 degrees. we had the official high here for a while. but still basically squeaking out some of these temperatures. coming down to 87 down from about 90 earlier in the day. this front is extending all the way back. it's going to be moving into our region by saturday into sunday. what it's also going to do is feed in basically into what is going on with danny. danny is a tropical storm. now, to the south east of cape hatteras. it's going to feed tropical moisture back to the front, bringing us a good brit of rain. danny is a tropical storm. as it starts to move on past the maryland shores, it could be a level. it is around 74 miles per hour. as it continues to move on by, we expect the winds to die down. any water that could be pushed into the bay will be knocked on out because of that storm, moving on by and thinged -- shifted by the wind. we're not talking about a major storm surge. we are talking about a high surf, rip current along
