at midnight on the embarcadero, 46 degrees. forecast temperatures for the fireworks, and tomorrow will be in the 60s for the bay area. what a way to ring in 2014. unusually warm and near-record-high temperatures. this not so good, another spare the air day tourm, and we've got tides. tide will be way up. inundation in the low-lying areas the shore line. we've still got really cool weather over this part of the country. the upper midwest has a deep trough. out in this part of the country, correspondingly big dome of high pressure. that west coast high is parked in place. no warm temperatures or rain in sight for the next couple of weeks as we look down columbus from the top of the transpyramid. no rain this week, no rain next week. livermore tomorrow 67 degrees. 12 greece above its normal high of 556789 down in the south bay, 64 greece at santa clara, and 65 in morgan hill. east bay 62 at brentwood, and 67 at livermore. 64 degrees in napa tomorrow. plenty of sunshine, and numbers mostly in the low to mid 60s in the north bay. 62

then in the 2000s, we extended the line from the foot of the embarcadero along the cal trains station and we built full stations there high level so it's accessible by all the doors up to cal train. a few years later we also added in way side flat forms on the side of all these sides to run historic street cars to cal train. then also in the 2000s we added a whole new line, the t line which goes to the border with san mateo county out third street. every single station on that line is fully ak cezanne -- accessible with high level platforms so it's accessible at all doors. we had another stop at the city college. it was difficult to get to the city college because of the hill. we added another stop to the other side to make it easier to get to the college. now we are up to 2010 and in this decade we were able to get a grant from the federal government from the fta for funding for project that go beyond the requirement of the ada to work on conceptual engineering for additional stops to fill in the gaps between our accessible stations or stops on the surface. we also were able to get t

brian webb is live along the embarcadero. new year's day revelers should expect a show. >> in a few hours the embarcadero will be packed with revelers ringing in the new year bringing treacherous traffic along with them. a fence is put up as a safety barrier to keep partiers from falling or jumping into the bay. the big payoff, though, a free fireworks show out over the bay for everyone to see. all you need to do is step outside and look up. on board, two rusty old barges 15 00 fireworks strung together connected to a computer run by pyrotechnic engineer zach wetzel who after 15 years on the job still has all his fingers and toes and still gets nervous for each show. >> everybody is counting down to the new year and then nothing pops off, it's embarrassing. >> reporter: san francisco will be swamped with new year's eve revelers making traffic mostly terrible. to help, muni and caltrain will add trains and offer free rides after 8 p.m. no alcohol allowed. bart will run until 3 a.m. bart won't be free. it will beef up operation
