one last live shot from the high definition emeryville camera. a very shallow layer of fog in the distance. it is confined to the coast. but it will start to move in over some of our bayside communities in the overnight hours. show you the current readings across the bay area. san francisco 55 degrees. half moon bay, 54. you get inland and temperatures are in the 70s. so a nice afternoon. fog over the bay tonight. mild and hazy tomorrow. and you are look at a chance of showers as early as thursday afternoon. here is what it looked like this afternoon. fog just lingering near the coast. really chilly conditions. places like half moon bay, pacifica only in the mid 50s but inland area enjoying the sun with mild conditions today. tomorrow is going be another mild day. in the morning we will start out with the fog actually moving in over the bay. at around 5:00 tomorrow morning some of you will wake up to the grey skies and really inland communities will start out with the clear conditions. temperatures will fall to the mid 40s in places like mover da

. >>> early this evening, a water main broke in emeryville. this is on hollis street between 59th and powell. and from what we can tell here, water there is about -- well, at least a foot deep. we don't know if any of those businesses have been flooded or affected but the emeryville fire department is out there as you can see that one fire truck right there but it's going to be east bay municipal utility crews that will find the problem and fix it tonight. so far we're told they haven't gotten a handle on it. >>> crews are adding another section to the bay bridge tower tonight and as you can see from our chopper shots, it's probably catching the attention of drivers who are going by the current span but as sharon chin shows us, caltrans says drivers should be thinking safety first. >> reporter: drivers going westbound on the bay bridge have a front row seat to a milestone in the $1.6 billion bay bridge suspension project. crews are hoisting up the second section of the signature tower. the section contains four pieces like four legs of a stool

east bay municipal utility district workser are trying to repair a broken water main in 'em emeryville gust out for quite a time after that pipeline ruptured last night. no word what caused the break. no reports of construction crews that could have damaged the water main. >> today the family of a truck driver who died last november when tis big rig plunged over the bay bridge s-curve will file a lawsuit. >> it was his first and last trip november 9th of last year. his truck loaded with pears flipped over and plunged 200 feet to the ground. his family is filing a wrongful death suit accusing caltran of negligence in the design of the s-curve. >> a driver would not expect this s-curve on a normal bridge that is a straight bridge. >> at the time the chp ruled that the car was traveling over the 40 mph speed limit. >> right now it appears it was a tragic incident that could have been prevented had that driver followed the laws, the rules of the road. >> there were speed limit and warning signs before after his death caltran added more signs, flashing lights and rumble trips. >> it's clear
