eric sandoval is joining us live from the newsroom to talk about this. you spoke with morgan today. what did he say? >> we had a lot of questions about what morgan claims happened in animal kingdom almost two years ago. the grandmother was around 90 years old, also in a wheelchair. not in the most perfect condition health-wise. morgan says it doesn't matter. disney should be held responsible for her death. even though she died two days after her grandson was bit. >> did they know about this snake or should they know -- have known about this snake? >> attorney matt morgan admits he needs to find out a lot more answers before he files a lawsuit. he says an alabama family was vacationing at disney's animal kingdom in october of 2014. they say they were walking along this pathway in the jungle trek when a brown and green snake fell on their 8-year-old son and the boy's great grandmother died of a massive heart attack two days later. >> it is our position that the event of the snake falling on this young boy and the grandmother witnessing this event was the proximate cause of her death.

news 6 reporter eric sandoval was there. it sounds like this ruling could affect a lot of cases. >> well, you know, i talked with state attorney jeff ashton today. he told me that none of the cases that were handed down here are going to be affected by the supreme court's ruling. not even bessman okafor's. but there is that slight chance that that could happen. listen to what the victim's family in the okafor case told me today when i asked them what if okafor's case changed to a life sentence? >> just leave him in that cell until he rots, until his skin peels off, because that's what i want for bessman okafor. >> for raphael zaldivar, the possibility that bessman okafor's sentence might be changed is hard to swallow, but tonight okafor's attorney tells us he's appealing his death sentence, partially based on this week's supreme court ruling. as he does that, lawmakers in the state house and state senate are trying to change the death penalty law to make it more in line with federal guidelines. one proposal would require a u

news 6 reporter eric sandoval asked the state attorney why they're not filing charges. what did you find out? >> well, first of all, everything happened behind me on state road 434, just approaching 436 last october. we got ahold of the explanation from the state attorney's office. he says when this accident happened, the driver had not been taking drugs, had not been drinking. she admitted she took a fall shortly before the crash happened. did that prevent her from hitting the brakes. the state attorney's office says they may never know. >> she says she's reliving what she calls one of the most painful days of her life. it was in october when news 6 showed you this scene in altamonte springs. police say her brother, his wife and their 1-year-old son, were hit from behind by a crown victoria driven by 75-year-old cynthia guthrie. the mother was left seriously injured and the sister says her family was left heart broken. >> the baby, which was our hope, our light, the light of our family, hopes in so many ways, he's just gone, just like this. >> and today, she got more b

news 6 reporter eric sandoval is getting answers about all of this. you found out prosecutors have actually changed the charges against her? >> you're absolutely right. you know, when she was first arrested last week, this former substitute teacher was facing 10 counts of sex battery. but just within the last 45 minutes, we have found out that prosecutors have officially charged sarah moore with seven counts of lewd and lascivious behavior. that replaces those 10 counts she originally faced. but things are getting a lot worse for moore. she was arrested again last night. now she's facing more charges that she tampered with evidence. >> st. cloud police say 35-year-old sarah moore was caught in the act. they say a worker at this verizon store in st. cloud called them after he was asked to help moore delete pictures an evidence locker at the police station. moore, a substitute health teacher at st. cloud middle school, was arrested last week on charges that she had sex with a teenage boy several times. police seized that phone as evidence. she had bonde

eric sandoval is getting answers tonight about why d.c.f. did not investigate those claims. what did you find out? >> well, first, i want to point that means they have to report any allegations of abuse or neglect involving their school students. i asked orange county public schools today if they did report the previous cases. they said they did and i have proof. so i asked the department of children and families why they didn't investigate. >> apopka police told news 6 they arrested 66-year-old donald sharp after a student, who is now in high school, came forward accusing him of touching her inappropriately when she was in the third grade. his arrest affidavit tells the story of how the student claims he would have her sit on his lap, telling her you look beautiful and do you like sitting on my lap? today news 6 found out at least two other students came forward with allegations against sharp around the same time, in 2009. the department of children and families tells us they got a call on their hotline in 2009. the caller told them about two students who were making allega

eric sandoval is getting answers at the orange county sheriff's office. you just broke details on this case on twitter. what were you able to find out? >> i just spoke with the spokesperson at the orange county sheriff's office this afternoon. she tells me this man who was trying to break into this apartment actually knew the people who were on the other side of the door. i also found out this wasn't the first time this has happened. i also talked with the people who live in that apartment this afternoon and they tell me they are very shaken up. >> orange county sheriffs investigators say they responded here to the oak reserve apartments around 6:00 this morning when they got a 911 call. the person on the other end said someone had broken into their apartment. when deputies arrived, they say there was a man dead on the ground outside. he'd been stabbed by the people who live inside the apartment. >> there was a relationship apartment and the man who was trying to break in. >> but you can't tell us what >> at this point we're holding back on some of that.

news 6 reporter eric sandoval is getting answers from city leaders. what are they telling you? >> well, buddy dyer's office tells me they have not been served with this lawsuit yet, but they said at first glance, it doesn't seem they've violated any state statutes. this afternoon, the city council actually approved this sale, but that doesn't mean this transaction is a done deal just yet. >> at about the same time as orlando city hall was giving orlando city soccer president phil rawlins a standing ovation today, a lawsuit was being walked into orange county courthouse, seeking to stop the city's sale of soccer stadium land to the team. the group filing it claims the deal is illegal. >> you need to tell me why this is such a great thing that it's okay for a government to violate the law. >> since the city of orlando used eminent domain to get the land, it needed to follow certain steps before selling it. they claim in the lawsuit the city owned the property less the original owners to repurchase their land and they didn't open up bidding for the land. the residents say there wi

news 6 reporter eric sandoval is at the marion county sheriff's office and joins us now live. that surveillance video really cracked this case wide open. >> yeah, it did. that video was actually taken from surveillance cameras on an office building. that is important because the deputy's body cameras show a very different angle and tell a very different story. we asked the sheriff about that today. >> the video shot from the sides the end of a chase for drug suspect derek price. he runs into this parking lot and appears to give up, laying down on the ground. you can then see five marion county sheriff's deputies subdue him by repeatedly punching and kicking him, even though he seems not to fight back. the deputy jesse allen terrell is the final deputy to be indicted by a federal grand jury yesterday. >> these are individual choices these individuals had to make. they made that choice on that day. certainly it was the wrong decision, not the right thing to do. we're not going to tolerate it at the marion county sheriff's office. >> the sheriff says he turned the surveillance vi
