let's go to eugene daniels.onder how the white house is sort of strategizing around all of the things that went down in washington yesterday. we'll start with guns. but the hearings must have been of great interest inside of the white house. >> starting with guns, yesterday for a lot of people was the perfectin capsulation of the gun culture in this country. you talked about passage in the senate of this bill that going to the house that possibly is getting passed in the house and going to the president to sign at some point. and then you have in the supreme court going the opposite of what we know that americans want in this country. we've seen it for a long time and there is more restrictions on guns. and the supreme court use be a place that -- an institution that was concerned with how the institution was perceived by the american people. and they didn't want to be too out of touch. the american people were moving one way, they typically try to move in that same direction. we're seeing that not be the case a

eugene daniels, thank you so much. and andrew, when i see a three point plan on how they're going to curve 8.6% inflation when you have two years of pent up demand and you have a war raging on in russia and ukraine that is influencing food and energy prices. and you've got of course supply chain problems and still the specter of china coming on and pushing that demand up even higher. i have to laugh. there are a few things they could do with the margin, but what the hell can the president or congress do? >> right. this is the ultimate problem. there is very little they could do and what will happen over the next couple of months and we're see it today, if the federal reserve doesn't what it is supposed to be doing, which is increasing interest rates to try to tamp down inflation, what are you going to see? you're going to see a lower stock market. so you'll see headlines that show red on the screen. what are you going to see? you might eventually see lower housing prices. we haven't gotten there yet. but the question i

let's bring in nbc news capitol hill correspondent, ali vitali and eugene daniels. adam schiff takes the lead in tomorrow's hearing, what do we expect so far? what do we know? >> adam schiff taking the lead as we saw other members of the committee play leading roles in the past few years, zoe lofgren and peter agulair are the ones that took the helm the last two years. for adam schiff, talking about the sustained pressure campaign at the state level, they'll do that using brad raffensperger and gabe sterling to talk about what the pressure campaign looked like. i imagine we'll do a lot of relistening to the phone call we heard last year where president trump pressured them to find the number of votes he needed to over turn the results in georgia. schiff over the weekend detailed the fact they had new information. he said, here's some of what that might be. listen. >> we'll show evidence of the president's involvement in this scheme. we'll also again show evidence about what his own lawyers came to think about this scheme. and we'll show courageous state officials wh
