start to see some rain moving in, and then we continue to see that heavy rainfall near ukiah, and eureka and farther to the north, and then we'll start to see it sliding down across the bay area, fairly quickly from tuesday into wednesday, and most of us are going to see anywhere about a half of an inch of rain or less for areas south of the golden gate bridge, but then when you head farther to the north, that's where the highest rainfall totals will be. and then speaking of rainfall, now california very small percentage of the state still in a drought, no more drought conditions, not even abnormally dry, after all the rain that we've had from the late january to early february time frame, and we do of course still have some more rain in the forecast. the next storm system moving in will be warmer, so we're not going to see as much of the sierra snow and we're also going to have some warmer temperatures moving in, even though we will still have some rounds of rain. so really good to see all of this going on in the forecast, and we have a little while longer to enjoy the sunshine. kris an

look at where the rain is approaching the north bay, it's raining in ukiah, the rain moving through eurekaproaching reading, this is where the rain has been focused in the last several hours but then it will start to shift to the south. i want to widen out this view to show you all that's happening. we have this long stream of moisture and this is that subtropical moisture that len hans the rainfall, and then we have this area of low pressure that will be moving through. so this is basically drawing up all of that heavy rain, and it will be with us forukiah. here we are at 9:30, light showers moving through santa rosa and elsewhere, we are dry. as we go through 4:00 to 5:00, we start to see more of the bay area getting in on some of that rain, may even start to approach the south bay in time for the evening commute, but it looks pretty much focused anywhere from san rafael over toward napa to fairfield and also in oakland as we go into tonight, and still light rain for the south bay. so where we see the heaviest rain setting up, it will continue to rain in those areas for not only tomorrow

sunshine, and then later on today, we'll see this system that's bringing only some spotty, light rain to eureka, a start to approach the bay area, we'll track that on storm ranger throughout the day, and it doesn't look like we'll all get in on this rain, but where you do, you may have some brief, heavy downpours, shows at about 10:30 we could see that move through the peninsula, the south bay and into the afternoon, still some rain chances. we may have know on our peaks hamton but other a from the than that, no out later on tonight, mostly bringing trace amounts of rain. the highest amount on the computer model showslit snow sh sierra that have had lots of snow recently. this may make the road conditions a little bit more tricky going out throughout today as well as early tomorrow, but check out our snowpack. the statewide average is now at 146% of normal, and the central sierra doing the best at 154% of average. so that's really good news. we do have some more rain and snow in the forecast, but most of it will be light. we could be tracking some bigger systems in the forecast, some storms com

doppler radar showing no rain for the bay area but then you head farther to the north around eurek eurekaare passing by, it is scattered there and where we have the higher elevations we're seeing some snow. we could see some snow over s of the bay area peaks going into the day but there's not a lot of rain with this system. so it's going to be very hit or miss, going into late morning and early afternoon, and you just want to make sure you're prepared in case one of these quick-moving showers passes by where you are at the time and we'll see things clearing out tonight. not all of us will see the rain and where we do, it will be very light. it shows the highest amount around morgan hill at about 0.2 of an inch of rain. just where some of the cells pop up and produce some slightly heavier rain is where we'll get the most of those showers. looking at temperatures in the upper 50s tomorrow, and then back into the mid-50s for the weekend. by sunday, another quick-moving cold front will bring us some scattered rain by the end of the weekend. i'll be tracking that for you. mike, now you'll take
