live in everett, sera congi, wcvb, newscenter 5. randy: grief counselors will be at medway high school this morning as students deal with the death of classmate. 17-year-old maddie lamson was killed in a single-car crash late friday night. flowers now mark the site of the tragedy in neighboring franklin. lamson was a senior at medway high and played several sports. her car crashed into a tree and caught fire. emily: a pit bull has a long recovery ahead of her after she was found starving near railroad tracks in claremont, new hampshire. erika's back with the clues suggesting this is a case of animal abuse. erika: the dog, named hope, is now in the care of a shelter owner. one of the worst she's seen in 19 years, and there's no way it happened overnight. the pit bull was found last week by someone out walking their dog. hope was weak and weighed only 27 pounds, about half of what she should weigh. shelter owner cathy sullivan says that means someone abandoned her since hope would not have been able to get there on her own. >> her con

everett plays the next playoff game tomorrow tonight. a mother and her baby attacked in mansfield, suspect 27-year-old david brock allegedly coming at them with a knife. both the mom and baby are ok. brock is now charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. the mother called 911 from the balcony of their apartment and stayed there until police arrived. police took brock into custody at gunpoint and according to mansfield police, the suspect lives in the same apartment as the victim. >> elizabeth: a mystery in worcester, after a body is found inside a car engulfed in flames. source tells fox 25 news the victim is a woman and right now figure out how her body got there and whether she died before or after that fire started. stephanie quinu is in worcester tonight and reports that people who live in that area say they've seen trouble like this before. >> because it area is just so remote, it's become a very popular place for illegal dumping, so much so, police have now posted warning signs throughout the neighborhood, right here
