one of our project expos on the right we had over 5 hundred people to learn about the projects. you can see one of our mobile sites. it takes the vote to the people. we had voting in 15 sites including churches and senior center and high schools. that's one of the important ways we reach the folks. and lastly on the right you can see the posters educating folks. so some of the outcomes i'm looking the numbers. back why the fall we had over 8 hundred folks participated. the vast majority of those came to the assembly. a one hundred and 15 people turned those ideas through proposals and spent countless hours of their time. they submitted 60 proposals to the city for final investing and in the ends 4,000 people voted. education public safety economic development and street transportation and community and curls were the categories. and parks and recreation. so again, i been involved in th budget process in san francisco for a very, very, very long time. we know about the fancy words like expenditure. we like to fancy ourselves as budget excerpt. and everybody gets to became is budg

book expo america. know, i'm one of those people that believe it or not it is seen on television i'm the kind of guy that when he gets into any area he looks for the bookstore and he hangs around the bookstore. [applause] it's a magnet for me. i like to explore books. it's like dating someone else. your export of all the time. i've been meaning to explore -- i started at chapel hill and i fell completely in love with carla and barbers politics and prose in d.c. i hope somebody here is familiar. it's absolutely the number one watering spot in d.c. for not just -- everybody. we all go there to hang out, drink coffee. it looks like a grad school operation going on all the time. we love that place. up in nantucket i love the bookstore which is the place to go and hang out. it was always a place to check him. the independent bookstore such a cultural phenomenon in this country. it's not just the place to sell books. really have an ongoing intellectual life and it's the one place you love doing it. so congrat
