senator feinstein, welcome back to "meet the press." >> thank you, chuck. >> i want to get back to a bunch of foreign policy issues. let's start with the e-mail situation. in 2011, there was a memo sent out with secretary clinton's signature on it warning and she didn't write it we found out later, warning of avoid conducting official department business from your personal e-mail accounts for national security reasons. you had your own high profile issues with the cia and disclosure issues. do you see a problem with how this was done perception wise? >> no, not yet i don't because as i understand it, the regulations were unclear and there is no specific law. in november of last year, four months ago, the president in fact, signed a law and that law said that if you use your personal e-mail and there government material on it that government material must be transferred within 20 days. that in itself said the situation isn't clear. and i think what has to happen is it has to be cleared up in a specific legal policy because different secretaries of state have done different things. >>

senator feinstein is calling on the fda to launch an investigation into purina's beneful kibble. the request comes a week after a lawsuit filed by a bay area man claimed thousands of dogs were becoming ill and dying after eating the products. the senators also called for an immediate update of fda guidelines that would prevent contamination of dog food. the lawsuit alleges a toxic substance known to be lethal to animals. it can cause internal bleeding and other serious health issues. purina calls the lawsuit without merit. general motors is dramatically reduceing the warranty coverage on its chevrolet and gmc cars. gm will cut its free maintenance program by half. the company will now cover two service visits in 24 months instead of four. they also reduced their car warranties to cover five years or 60,000 miles. that's down from five years or 100,000 miles. the warranties have not been a big selling point, so why bother. customer care -- customers care more about the quality of the car than the warranty. >>> makers of a trendy style of children's pj's are pulling them off store
