it's getting pretty busy here at fern rock. you right here at the regional rail we've seen people come throughout the morning. some people don't usually take this, of course, because the buses, subways and trolleys are not running, people are trying to find an alternate way to go. you see the tracks, some of the folks waiting for the next train to come up here. still, no deal as far as the septa strike is concerned. septa and the transport workers union still at odds going into this fourth day. both sides talked late into the night once again. and septa claimed that the union was not engaging in good faith negotiations but the union says that's not the case. they've been prepared to bargain day and night. the union president says he's not going to apologize for trying to maintain quality affordable health care for members and families. because these buses, trolleys and subways are not running, the folks are trying to get another way around. >> train is proching. have yo have your passes out. >> the regional rail has been workin

>> reporter: well jim in the last several hours fern rock transportation center has been fairly busy could look completely different tomorrow if, in fact, the workers go on strike. i talked to several people many of them say they do have a back up plan carpooling uber things like that and others at this hour still don't know what they are going to do. >> i want septa to come to settlement and get the job done so all of we can be all happy. >> reporter: septa riders getting dropped off at fern rock transportation center tonight were well aware this could be the last time they ride the bus or train for days and even weeks. >> i'm very frustrated, 100% frustrated. >> reporter: jeannette chased us down what is the latest on the on going talks. >> i ride septa and wanted to know what is going on with the negotiations. >> reporter: by all accounts talks tense and frustrating with the union accusing septa storming out of a bargaining session over the weekend something septa denied but have long urged customers to think of a back up plan, much easier said than done. some of septa's 400,000 r

trains here at the fern rock transportation center is rolling through about every 15 minutes.unning on time. but as you can see, as we really get into this morning commute, we're seeing things starting to get pretty full. i will say this. we're not seeing as much crowding as we did yesterday. i think that's because after waking up to the strike yesterday morning and dealing with all of the delays, people made other arrangements to get to work today. some people use car ride services like uber and lyft. others relying on family or friends or car pools. one of the things i notice, there seems to be a lot less confusion here at the station. a lot of people yesterday morning were waking up, figuring it out, trying to determine exactly what they needed to do to get to where they needed to go. today a lot of people are coming here with extra time. they know exactly what train they're catching. they're here in just enough time, getting into the city and they're not having too many problems as of yet this morning. reporting live at the fern rock station, i'm pamela osborne, nbc 10 new

. >> pamela is in fern rock.extra regional rail riders will be headed there for the morning rush. >> i think the best advice we can give to everyone at home is just allow yourself plenty of extra time to get wherever you need to go if youç rely on sep, even if you get on the roads this morning as there could be more vehicles out there as well. the regional rail is the only thing that's running this morning. when i saw you last half hour, this platform had at least a couple dozen passengers waiting. the train that arrived to pick up those passengers was already almost completely full. everybody was able to get on okay. we did have just a couple seconds to talk to passengers who were waiting before the train came, before they had to get on. i suspect a lot of them weren't normal rail riders. they were here because they knew the buses, trolleys and subways weren't going to be running today. some people were caught off guard at midnight when the strike went into effect. we saw buses finishing up their routes in the

annie mccormick is live at the fern rock transportation center. nobody wants to go back to the strike. >> reporter: i didn't think anybody does, that was a long 6 days. union workers will cast their vote on the five year tentative agreement that local 234 union leaders made with septa. willie brown said he is proud with the negotiated contract and if septa had more money they would be negotiating. he said septa doesn't have the money. the 6 day strike ended in time for the election day. septa filed a back to work injunction that loomed over workers head. in a letter, to the members, 234 president willie brown said some members feel they should have gotten more. he under members to ignore false information to those opposed to the deal and outlined what they secured in the agreement, wage increases of 10.5% and pension increases 15% higher and cadillac healthcare coverage with employee contributions. on average they make 6 60 to $80,000 a year. brown said he is not telling members how to vote, and to do what is best for their families. but they coul

they put up individual tents for us and mast arbitrating with a bower of ferns and flowers as if fordisney presents-- princess. i was glad it was so attractive on the outside because inside the trench was so slippery it took infinite skill to squat. @10000 feet and 40 degrees you don't get the variety of night sounds you do it tropical elevation, but it dawned the song of honey eaters rang out along with cicadas. the thickness of vegetation in the height at which tree kangaroos live made the exact location where they were difficult to pinpoint. the ground was spongy with moss and saturated earth while tree roots crisscrossed the forest for. i had to take care to trip as we made our way through the dense foliage of tree trunks, saplings and fall ferns. one of the guys spotted trish, the tree kangaroo. it took several minutes to find her with my binoculars above 40 feet on a large branch of a tree. her golden brown tail hung down like a thick vine while her body was perfectly camouflaged in a sunlit leaves where she was munching on a spree of orchids. not far away was her joey, have he
